Can you pineapple without ruining your curls? I can see mbl and longer doing a successful pineapple because their backs are long enough to be put up and not stretch the curl because their curls will hang lower but I can' picture apl and shorter doing it workout stretching the back somehow? point me to a video if possible. Thanks in advance; )

I think pineappling was better when I was apl. Now it's too long (whip length) so the hair that hangs out the pineapple has to be loose bunned because if I just let it hang I will sleep on it & my hair will get smushed & flattened. So I can't really pineapple anymore I just do a very loose bun on the top of my head. Pineappling at apl rocked for me.

This pic is from 6 months ago but this what a pineapple is for me now. It doesn't work anymore . The hair from the pineapple is past shoulder length so it's pointless. But for people with more shrinkage than me the pineapple may still work for them. image-1253171308.jpg

This is a braid out by the way

ManeStreet very pretty. Is your hair colored and with what? It looks so healthy

Wow beautiful hair

My hair grows in layers naturally so its like chin length bangs, collar bone on the sides, apl in the back. I swear by pineappling, it does stretch but I like the extra length and the curls bounce back pretty well when I lightly spritz with a refresher. I'm a W&G girl...My hair is type 4, fine strands, medium density. Day 1 is my least fave bc its the most defined but most shrunken and least volume...Ill sacrifice definition for length and volume any day.

My pineappling is 90:10 sometimes it works and most times it doesn't lol (10% being the times it does) my hair is short and I will either do one pineapple on top of my head with a rubberband or do multiple pony tails.

I pineapple in 4 ponytails. two in the front , two in the back.

Then take them down, finger massage the middle parts and shake. Im APL everywhere but my very front bang area.

Natural Type 4 a with b section above each ear.

I searched online to see more pics of pineappling because I want to try it.

Look what else I found.

I too pineapple in multiple ponytails. I typically use 6 or 7 ponytails and make sure one of them is in the middle/crown area so I don't have to massage the crown/middle too much. And yes, it does stretch my curls but I LOVE it stretched.

I used to pineapple in 2 sections split from ear to ear with SL hair. I never thought of doing more sections, only less. :ohwell:

The flexi set in my avvy was my main ps for a while. I pineappled everynight for a week and the curls would pop back once I took it down and shook it out. Yeah, they'd get a little looser, but the whole thing got looser after a while, so... meh. It still looked okay. I think my avvy might be day 3.
