I used to when I was relaxed and then I'd condition with my regular conditioner. However, I haven't used that product since I've been natural.

Please follow it up with a moisturizing conditioner.. That stuff makes your hair really dry

Denali, I've used it before and you are not lying. I just had a touchup a week ago and am noticed more than average for me shedding---so I want to nip that in the bud. I was concerned about using shampoo after the treatment though. I wonder if this will take any of the beneifts away from using the treatment.

It shouldn't. They know that you're going to have to wash your hair anyway...

I use the treatment about every 2-3 months.

I would be leery of shampoo, because I would be afraid to add to the already drying affects of the treatment. I usually rinse my hair with a conditioner that offers some slip to help remove traces of the treatment then follow that with Aphogee Moisture Balance conditioner as recommended.

Shampoo before the treatment. Afterward use use a moisturizing conditioner. That what I did and it worked really well, but that stuff stinks bad. ALso make sure you rinse it all out. If you need to wash after for some reason maybe try a con wash.

EXACTLY
Just make sure that you rinse your hair for a complete 5 minutes to get all of the treatment out.

yea is there a reason why you want to shampoo afterwards? I know it stinks like monkey butt(I dont know what monkey but smells like but I that would be my closest guess

) but I follow it up with 2 conditioners to get the smell out

I think I'm the only one who is not bothered by the smell. It did catch me off-guard the first time I used it but I've grown to like it. Maybe I'm just crazy

jrw, it doesn't bother me either. I've smelled worse, like Carol's Daughter healthy hair butter. yuck!!

I have to admit, I don't use aphogee treatment much though. Only when I used to color my hair years ago and after using the naturalaxer.

I would just use a good moisturizing conditioner and rinse well.

I had a new line (Redken Smooth Down) and wanted to try it in succession. Well, anyway, I just washed first and used Aphoghee and followed up with a moisturizing deep conditioner.
