I think the Aphogee Intensive two minute Reconstructor is a good place to start. The Treatment for Damaged Hair is extremely strong. Protein, while it strengthens your hair, can make your hair hard. The two minute reconstructor is more moderate and seems to be a better option to attain a protein moisture balance.

I hope this helps :)

It is called ApHOGEE TREATMENT FOR DAMAGED HAIR this is the hardcore one that you must follow up with a good moisturizer.

I would definitely start with the Intensive Keratin Reconstructor. It is a creamier texture and milder than the Treatment for damaged hair. If this does not solve your protein moisture balance problems you can move up to the Treatment for damaged hair.

The treatment for damaged hair is NOT something that will leave you with silky soft hair:cool: , if anything it makes your hair appear hard, dry and brittle. It is effective though for hair that needs tons of protein.

I used the Treatment for Damaged Hair recently. It stopped all my breakage cold. My hair came out great!

You have to be careful and use it exactly as the directions say. Apply it, harden it with a dryer. Don't use a plastic cap. When you go to rinse it out, let the water soften it up before you touch your head at all. You also need to use a moisturizing conditioner after it is all out. I used two. The Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer and then Humectress. After all that I'd also recomend a rinse with Porosity Control to keep the moisture in.

The 4oz bottle Damaged Hair bottle and the 8oz Balancing conditioner are both $1 off at Sally's this month. Both also come in packets so you can try them out, before you buy the larger treatment bottles. The 8oz bottle of the 2-min Reconstructor is also $1 off in June.

Thanks for the heads up on the Aphogee packets, Daisimae! I'm going to pick a couple up today. I'm doing a relaxer tonight and can experiment with a pack.

I remember using the Balancing Moisturizer once before with the 2 min. Reconstructer and didn't like it but I will get that packet too just to stay with the instructions. I'll follow up with my Kenra Moisturizing contioner as a back up.

Great Advice and Product Recs!

FYI ya'll, I changed my mind in case any other neo-Aphogees are following my ideas. After researching the threads, I will NOT be using the deep treatment today after my relaxer. It could cause serious irritation and burning.

I thought this would be okay because my old stylist always gave me Dudley's DRC's right after my relaxers but according to that thread, it's probably best to wait at least a week after.
