Help! I used the 2 min reconstructor today, followed by a moisturizing deep conditioner. I roller set my hair and now it's shedding. What did I do wrong? I'm so disappointed and frustrated....ugh!!!

melissa-bee: thanks for responding! I was freaking out. I don't have any experience with this product and thought perhaps my hair was protein sensitive.

My hair loves this product although I'm almost sure I'm not protein sensitive. I also don't think this products causes shedding, I could be wrong... :ohwell:

I've been having the same problem even though I always do a deep conditioning afterwards.

Hopefully, we can figure out what the problem is. I'm relaxed and know I need some type of protein. I deep conditioned afterwards as well.

If it's shedding, that's natural but if it's breakage you may not be able to tolerate the protein in the Reconstructor. I am texlaxed and protein sensitive and absolutely cannot use Aphogee anything. I can, however, use Chi Keratin Mist. It makes my hair strong and does not make it hard and I hardly have any breakage.

Did you use anything else after the conditioner? Some setting lotions have protein in them too.

@texaqt: I used narobi foam and Argan oil on my rollerset. My hair's not shedding quite as much as it was yesterday.

Exactly what conditioner did you use afterward, and did you use heat?

I never use protein alone. My hair can only tolerate it mixed in a moisturizing dc.
