ok so anyone who leaves oils on your hair overnight, HOW do you keep it from not making a mess on your pillows and running down your neck and stuff? Even with having saran wrap wrapped around my head (don't laugh) and a hair scarf on it still gets everywhere... so ladies how do you do it? or is it just a lost cause ??

I usually put a towel down on my pillow.... just to make sure I don't ruin anything....

Carry on!

:yep: I do that too or . . .

Nightly sealing: I use a silk scarf first because they tend to absorb the oils better and then a satin scarf on top of that. That usually keeps it from bleeding through.

Pre-poo: I use a platic cap (like a shower cap) with a scarf on top since I use a lot more oil for pre-poos.

I use oils overnight the day before I go to my stylist. I'm transitioning so pre-poos are a must for me.

Here are my findings after doing them bi-weekly for 9 months:

Saturate... don't soak Work it through concentrating on your strands when applying... trust me, it will find it's way to your scalp. If it's dripping down your forehead while you're applying... it's definitely going to drip throughout the night and especially the next morning. Many times, I've had to wipe it from my neck and rub it into my skin while driving to the salon. If you want, add a little conditioner to your hair to thicken up your concoction so that it won't drip if you'd like.

Cotton sweatband and old T-shirt I use the sweatband around the edges of the conditioning cap to secure the cap and cut back on leaks and slide your pillow into an old t-shirt and voila... I nice pillow cover. I've had minor overnight spills onto the t-shirt and it didn't mess up my pillow.

I think that's it for me.

I had this same problem a while back. No one was able to give me a solution. If I use THAT much oil that its gonna run down my forehead I sleep with a plastic conditioning cap on my head. I secure that with two scarves and a turban. This only occurs when I am overnight baggying. Any other time I just have learned to use a small amount of oil when I seal. I cross wrap my hair and use a scarf and a turban. But truthfully I still get an occasional oil stain on my sheets. I just figure I have to live with it.

SPA BAND. $4 at Sally's.

I put it around the shower cap. Add a towel over your pillow for total "coverage".
