ANYONE USE CONES REGULARLY (in your conditioners)???

Half, if not most, of my conditioners have cones in them. I actually believe they form a good coating that protects my otherwise naked strands...and haven't noticed any breakage from them.

I do use shampoo regularly so the risk of them coating my hair to the point of preventing moisture from reaching my strands and therefore leading to breakage is slim to none.

I'm not even paying attention to cones being in my conditioner. Maybe I should but I have not had bad breakage because of that. My breakage seem to come from high manipulation+lack of protein. Once I nipped that in the bud I've been straight.

thanks ladies!!! I know one thing, it did a great!!!!! job of preventing my henna from taking

my best detangler is absolutely loaded with cones... i just started back using it this week and was like:blush::blush::blush:

but great to hear no problems from you ladies! I'll work through this incredible stash..:look: and not repurchase

for now I have a plan to prevent problems

thanks so much!!!!!

I use cones regularly and swear by Sally GVP Biosolk serum. I shampoo weekly so buildup - and any developing side effects - is not a problem. I think cones don't cause problems, the improper or incomplete removal of these cause problems.

I use Herbal Essences Hello Hydration and leave it in. The more I use = the better my hair does. It has tons of cones but I've had no breakage.

For the past month I have have done nothing but co wash with herbal essences and it is working really well for me. It thought I would get build up and my hair would break a lot, but its not and my hair is doing just fine, I haven't had to clarify yet and butters and oils work the same way. At this rate I'm never gonna shampoo again.

I love cones!
They provide slip to my hair and really smooth out my strands.
I've never avoided cones at all, and I think they're a big help for my kinky hair.

Detangling my hair has become a one hour shower NIGHTMARE since becoming natural....i need smthg SUPER slippery to detangle just so i can separate my hair for deep conditioning with the more nutritious stuff....so what cone conditioners r the best...is the biggest vote for herbal essences? TIA ladies :)

I'd recommend Aussie Moist-it provides really great slip.

I use Herbal Essences and that has cones, I think? Haven't noticed any negative sides effects from it and I've been using it since I was transitioning.

Thank you Rocky!! i will try that...oh, forgot to say...it has to smell decent...i was going to try silicon mix but then i smelled it and was like "ICK!" lol

Tresseme Naturals Moisturizing conditioner is the business for detangling. Slip city!

My hair  cones, they leave my hair smooth and silky. I've tried the natural conditioners and they're okay and I will still use them now and again but my cone conditioners make my hair feel better. Regular clarifying deals with any build up issues.

When I first got here this site had me terrified of everything. Cones, Mineral Oil, Petroleum, oh my! So I tried to use the all natural products of this site (ao, qhemet, ect.). Anyway those products worked ok, but were way way more expenisve and not as slipy. I discovered my hair loves cones, makes for easy detangling, and a good moisturizer.

My hair love cones, I wouldn't be able to detangle my hair without it. Plus, my hair stays moisturized longer and it keeps frizz down.

I use cones to keep my thick hair toned down and less prone to the dandelion effect. If in a straight style, they help prevent reversion and when mixed with a lot of water, help keep detangling from becoming a nightmare.

Love 'em.

Most of my conditioners have cones and mineral oil, i love the slip that comes from these ingredients..lol my serums have tons of cones no breakage

crazydaze911, then you'll definitely love Aussie Moist-it smells great, very "tropical fruit"-y. Maybe some coconut....idk quite how to describe it, but it's nice. :D

i use use the con sulfate free poo, ic sparklites gel and sometimes a serum and they all have cones....no issues and i don't clarify either.

All the time and no breakage. Any damage I have is due to the fact that I flat iron sometimes more than once a week lol. But I've never had an issue with silicones. I will say that those V05 conditioners are excellent though and give as much slip as almost any cone conditioner will.

my hair loves cones! natural conditioners just don't cut it for me. i need a lot of slip. Herbal Essence saved my life a few days ago. my hair was so knotted up from using a natural conditioner, i thought i was going to have to cut the knots out. i haven't had any ill effects from using cones.

What are you using? Since my beloved Creme of Nature turned on me (and everyone else), I can't seem to find a good detangling anything anywhere. I also can't seem to find any conditioner without at least dimethicone.
