I used the Cantu relaxer this past weekend and it pretty much did absolutely nothing but burn my scalp:( I was just wondering if anyone else has had any luck with this brand.
TIA

I used it and hated it, It was like I did not even put anything on my new growth at all. It also made my hair hard and kinda crispy.

I'm so disappointed to read it didn't work. I just knew the shea butter it would make your hair so nice and smooth.

Glad i search the board before I bought.

Thanks ladies you saved me a few bucks.

I learned this the hard way today! I've been contemplating doing a corrective texturizer...well relaxer...and I saw this on the shelf right next to my trusty ORS relaxer. Well I picked it up because I heard such good things about cantu shea butter products. I did my corrective, and while I'm enjoying the uniformity, my hair was a hard crispy mess before I applied the conditioner that came with the relaxer. After applying the conditioner it's soft and supple, but I'm going to have to step up my deep conditioning / protein treatment game because I don't want to regret using this relaxer. What it feels like today doesn't guarantee what it's going to feel or look like next week.

I have to say that if you're looking to purposely underprocess/texturize then this might be a good selection for you. However, if you want straight hair, then stick with what is working for you. Some of my new growth doesn't even look like I've came anywhere near it with a relaxer, however, the rest of my hair is very uniform in texture. As a matter of fact, I'm no longer considered texturized, but texlaxed (which I might add is what I was going for).
