Before flat ironing, does anyone just use an oil?

And that's all it does.
Think about what oil does when it reaches high temperatures. Think chicken grease. Don't do it!!
Only time I use oil before I am flat ironing is to seal my leave-in but I use such a small amount and heat protectants afterwards.

Neroli said:Oil is NOT a heat protectant and will not protect your hair from heat appliances. PLEASE find a good heat protectant/serum if you're gonna use heat. I recommend:
nexxus heat protexx serum
IC (fantasia) serum
NTM serum
many many more!
There are many good heat protectants/serums out there, cheap and expensive, PLEASE use one before applying heat to your hair!
