I'm really on the hunt for somthing to tame my natural 4z hair, especially after washing. I heard there is a certain way you have to use it for good results, but dont remember the details. Anyone having good results with it? I really want to find out before I spend soo much money for it.

I'm using it, but I'm too much of a bum to follow the directions properly... :spinning:

Honestly, it reminds me of Oyin's Honey Hemp, but without the yummy smell.... and comparatively, it's pretty cheap....

I use it on my daughter's hair and she's natural. Her hair is really thick and reaches to her waist when stretched, and Afro Detangler, with a denman brush on damp hair makes her hair so manageable. The smell is amazing. I also use it on my oldest daughter's hair, she natural, but flat-irons regularly. She just applies it to her hair while wet, let it air dry, then flat-iron and she doesn't have to add anything else. It gives her hair a great shine because of the oils in it. Yes, it's pricey, but the bottle is large and is suppose to last about a year.

I have it. Although I wasn't too crazy (rather my hair wasn't too crazy about it) I think you have to apply once then go back and apply it again once it has settled. But I did notice my hair responded better when I added the Afro detangler PLUS my AO Honeysuckle Rose to a water bottle. But my hair is bias to AO Honeysuckle Rose anywhoo...I dont think I'll repurchase the AD after the bottle runs out though.

honeycomb, your daughter really dosent use anything else prior to flat ironing?
im planning on pressing my hair too, it would be good to just use one product.

I use it. It does help detangle my hair but I have other leave ins that I love just as well and are more cost affordable.

Yes, that's it, because it has oils in it, so her hair comes out silky just from the Afro Detangler.

I bought this, but don't remember any directions - how should I use?

Your supposed to detangle, then apply and braid, let sit.
Unbraid, reapply, braid again, let sit.
Unbraid, reapply, braid again, let sit.

Each time, it's a different amount of time. I think it's 15 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes, or something like that.

:nono: My reggies can be complex, but by the gods, I really don't feel like going through that every time I use it, and personally, I feel like it's WAY too much manipulation for my hair.

Wow that sounds really involved....

OT... I just figured out to use the advance search function through Google rather than use the seach feature with this site because it NEVER works for me!!

Well,

Do any of our kitchem beauticians have their own bootleg version of this product?

I've looked at it, but it seems expensive and if I could make it at home, then....

Why not.

Just asking.

I just purchased a sample of this and it actually worked for me so I have to cough up the dollars.... My other fav detangler was discontinued by Qhemets.

I think I will try a bootleg version. I cannotblow that kind of cash for a 1/2 gallon - if it does not work for me.

I have a big jug of Elucence Moisture balancing, that detangles great for me! TJ NS works for me too :yep:

I love the detangler. It's economical and does the job. I've been using it since 2005. I'm currently removing braided twist extensions using the detangler.

Here are the active ingredients, why not give it a try?

Active Ingredients: water, avocado/mango/shea butter, vitamin E, avocado oil, lecithin, green tea extract, orange extract, CitroZine™ (Organic) as a preservtive, natural fragrance.
Contains no mineral oil, petroleum/petrolatum, or parabens

I have been using this for a long time. It really does last ages. I use it when I take out my braids (I braid 80% of the time), so it works for me. i am yet to use it on a naked head of hair and just go. I will try that and get back to you...
NB: Braids coming out next week.
