Anyone still use oil sheen???

I don't use it. I feel my hair looks shiny and moisturized enough, and if I need a little extra sheen or feel my hair looks dry and dull, I just rub a drop of coconut (summer) or Grape Seed or Avocado (winter) in my palm and rub over my hair and that does the job.

Didn't the oil sheen's contain mineral oil as an ingredient? I have't even seen oil sheens since I braided my hair twice back in the 90's to grow out my Halle Berry/Toni Braxton cut but I seem to recall that.....correct me if I'm remembering wrong ....it has been a while....

I do. The only one I use is the one by profectiv mega growth. No petrolatum or mineral oil and it actually penetrates my hair. I don't use it often, just when I feel like it.

Occasionally I use ors oil sheen. A. Because I have it b. Because its a hard habit to break. That smell iz addictive! I know for sure its not necessary but I like a nice cloud of oil sheen before leaving the house.

Thanks ladies! I dont see it that much anymore, so I didnt know if there was something I dont about it, that I didnt know about!

that's my favorite! i like Keracare's oil sheen too! and i use CON Agran Oil Hair Polisher Spray.

Hey all,

I used to love the feel of oil sheen on my hair. I would spray oil sheen right after I roller set my hair, then sit under the dryer. After I was done, I would spray a little more oil sheen on the hair. Then... you guessed it... a little more after I was done styling the hair.

The problem was that I wanted to use more natural ingredients on my hair. I saw a lot of mineral oil, butane, other stuff I couldn't pronounce. So now I use oils.

I will look into Profectiv Mega Growth that a poster mentioned. Does anyone know the main ingredients of a regular oil sheen and what each ingredient does? Thanks in advance!

Hey ladies check out Misto, its a spray can that you can fill with your own oil. Its for cooking but you could use it to make your own custom oil sheen. Its $9.99 from Bed Bath and Beyond. There's a video demo and it seems like it sprays a really fine mist. Just thought I'd share.

i have a Misto, and i don't like using it for food. so i think i will repurpose it. thanks for the tip! :)

and i meant to say i use a glosser rather than an oil sheen, but alot of people don't like -cones so that won't work for some. i'm addicted to Avon Dry Ends Serum whenever i wear my hair straight.

adrienne0914 When I first saw the Misto, that was my immediate thought! I was like bump food, this would be awesome for misting hair! lol.

Ms. Tiki LOL great LHCF minds think alike  you should use it! I want to pick one up, I'm thinking it would prevent ODing on oil for sealing, my usual problem, i'm heavy handed. Esp when you've flat ironed and want a light, even application.

I haven't used in about 10 years. The last time I used it, my hair felt gross, coated, and greasy. It was the Isoplus in the blue and silver can. Terrible.
