I'm having a hard time deciding how often I should wash. I've been doing daily conditioner washes for a week now. Is that too much manipulation? Does the extra moisture make it worth it?

I think I'm gonna give it a rest for a couple of days. My scalp is starting to feel a little tender...

I do most days, maybe like 6 days a week. If I don't my hair gets pretty tangly because I always wear it out... I was wondering about the extra manipulation too, but my hair is better than it's ever been, so I guess it can't be hurting too much.

I don't think it's necessary to do every day. U can sprtiz your hair with distilled water for the days in between to moisturize your hair. For me personally though, I cw at least 5 days out of the week otherwise, like Kittenlongpaw said, my hair gets tangled up because I wear my hair out too. So far, my hair de-tangles pretty easily with the right conditioners and it's also short.

At the moment I'm doing it from Tuesday till Friday only (while working out and get the sweat out) every day and then Friday I do a rollarset. That way the days 'off' are giving my head a rest.

I condition washing after each workout (2X weekly), not daily. My stylist even advised "washing with just conditioner and not shampoo after you work out" during my touchup! Has he been reading this website? He also said not to use shampoo more than once weekly.

I wouldn't conditioner wash EVERY day because I hate the act of detangling. Every hair lost feels like a minor defeat. My hair is fragile when wet and especially tangly 6 weeks past touchup when there's substantial new growth. Daily manipulation is too much of a chore.

Every now and then...if I get an urge to shampoo in the middle of the week I'm normally to lazy to do anything else with my hair except put it in a bun. Then I have to rinse daily, steam or spritz for it to look right. I don't like the daily manipulation of wet hair thou...??, seems like I pull out more hair. Otherwise, it works wonders for the condition of my hair.

I dont lose many hairs detangling anymore since I bought my shower comb.I have been doing CO washes almost everyday for the past 10 days.I will keep it up til it gets too cold.

This past summer, I tried doing the daily conditioner washes, and it was simply too much manipulation & too time-consuming. I can get by with using a moisturizer every day that contains water, or putting water in my hands & rubbing it in my hair. Also, taking a shower without a cap. I no-poo once a week now, and that works just fine.

Well, I read somewhere that daily washing even with just conditioner can be damaging. So, I want to see what you guys think based on your experiance.

I've been daily conditioning washing 4-5 times a week and I just LOVE how soft and moisturized my hair feels afterward. However, I have been worried about the manipulation so maybe I should cut back and just moisturize/leave in condition my hair really well in between. But washing every day helps with the frizz factor when I wear my hair curly. However, I'm trying to wear in protective styles 4 times a week so that's not such a major concern right now.
