Anyone Specifically naturals using a light protein weekly?

I have fallen in love with AOBGA but I know many say most naturals don't really need protein unless they're dealing with overmoisturization... Well when water hits my hair or even after rinsing out prepoo and poo my strands are like gumby they'd follow the comb too far down and sometimes break. AO fixed that but now my concern is will I get breakage or is it a disaster waiting to happen if I do it once a week with my normal reggie?
 
I use AO Glycogen Protein weekly. I think it depends on your hair. My hair loves it. Sometimes I sleep with it in my hair overnight.
 
I add plain full fat yogurt (contains protein) to my deep conditioner mix and my strands are strong. I think having a balance is fine, and reacting as soon as your hair acts up
 
I'm not natural (sorry) but I use light protein at every wash (followed by moisture). I wash 2-3 times a week.
 
ut mThe first 6 months with natural hair I used no protein at all and after a while my hair got mushy, my curls were less defined and I got a very little bit of breakage. So I incorporated AO GPB and everything got back to normal. I have been using it once a week for 8 months and my hair is always strong and soft at the same time. I'm protein sensitive and it doesn't cause me any problems. I mix half part AO GPB, half part moisturizing conditioner to DC. If I don't have it, I use 50% moisturizing conditioner 50% coconut milk. Both for 1 hour without heat and with a plastic cap.

If it feels like too much, I think you can reduce it to once every 2 weeks without disasters. You should only feel like you need to moisturize more.

I kinda bought into the natural dont need protein thing (I'm transitioning btw), but I realized my hair had gotten really mushy and it was causing shedding and breakage. So I used Aphogee 2 step and I'm trying to incorporate some prtein in each week.
 
I do a protein DC with Mane n Tail conditioner mixed with coconut oil every week. I follow that with an all day/night moisturizing DC. (I simply apply the DC and put my hair in a bun. I rinse the next day)

Me too. This is my deep conditioner, so I guess I am not protein sensitive
 
I am transitioning and use some kind of protein weekly and plan to continue this when I'm fully natural, even if it's just using moisturising conditioners which contain a little protein. I feel that protein is essential whether you're natural or relaxed (albeit relaxed hair might need it more) because protein strengthens and helps your hair retain moisture.
 
My hair loves and needs protein too. Since I ran out of AOGPB (which I love), I've been using the GVP KPak. My regimen has to include protein.
 
Duo Tex overnight before wash day and a yogurt, coconut milk, irish moss, marshmallow root, cream of coconut mask on wash day....
 
im natural and i use protein up to 2x a week when i co wash daily. my hair holds on to moisture like no bodys business and my hair is easy to over moisturize. when i co wash daily i use a light protein in the middle of the week and then a mideum protein on sunday when i shampoo and deep treat.

my hair gets to the point where it now sees light protein as moisture so i have basically cut that out and in place i do henna and ayurvedic treatments to keep my hair strong.

i used to use AO GPB every week but its pure moisture for me now. so i use giovanni xtreme protein, giovanni reconstructor, henna and ayurveda. ive used aphogee 2 step once and it was wonderful.
 
I use light protein dc every week since I don't use protein at all during the week (right now I have a different reggie which include more protein).
 
Been doing it since 2003. I alternate between AO GPB one week and Nexxus Emergencee the next.
