I always had a reddish brown color of hair and use to get asked what I colored my hair with. Well I colored my hair for the first time last year and it seems my hair isn't coming in that color anymore. I had heard this years ago from a girl who said it happened to her and I thought she was crazy because I'm like that wouldn't have anything to do with your new growth until it happened to me. Anybody could give me a reason why this would be possible. I miss my natural red color, it was so beautiful in the sun. Now it's like a dark brown with some very few highlights from the honey I put in my conditioner I was thinking maybe because my ends are lightly colored that it throws off the rest of my hair idk....

My new growth looks much darker than it was before I colored it. My natural color use to be a 4 but now it's looking like a 2. For now, I'm assuming it's because the contrast of the dyed hair is making it appear darker. I have copper hair with blondish highlights so I can't give a definite answer. I just know my new growth LOOKS darker.
