Anyone NOT use heat protectant to flat iron...

I ask because i think that may be the culprit in the whole hair rising up off my back thing. i don't use protectant much but i dont think my hair likes too much product. i have very thin strands so a little acts like a lot! you think flat ironing once a month without using protectant will kill my hair? or maybe someone can recommend a light protectant? Chi Silk infusion and John Freida Serums are too heavy for me and that's all i have tried so far. TIA

Its seems as if you don't like the weight of serums. You could try a spray---I get better results because the spray evenly distributes the product--Proclaim glossing spray (not the thermal) is what I use, but they have many on the market. Watch out for the products that contain alcohol.

I'd say try a spray. Redken Heat Glide is good.
