Anyone know where to get Vitale Pro relaxer?

Hi ladies,

I plan to texlax soon, but may go a little straighter this time. I am afraid my relaxer may be expired. I currently use Vitale High Comfort relaxer with beautiful results, but purchased it about a year ago.I called the company and was told that unopened Vitale has a 2 year shelf life, but opened, about 4 months. It has been opened since I used it in March of 09.( I usually stretch about 6 months at a time).

It does not smell weird to me, but I don't want to take any chances. The BSS I originally bought it from no longer sells it, and I wonder if you need a license to purchase.

Does anyone else use this, or know where to buy it? Or, are there any other current or former Vitale users who have found success with another relaxer? I seem to have better luck with lye, and would like to find something similar to Vitale if I can't get it. Please help.

TIA

I do not use Vitale but IMO I wouldn't risk it! Is way cheaper to switch relaxers or buy another one than to lose your hair.

Thanks Gissell,

You are absolutely right. I will not chance it. I do not want to lose my hair, and will go back to the drawing board. I want to try MBB, but can't seem to find it our Vitale online.

I will just continue my stretch...but do research for an alternative relaxer for my fine hair.

Sorry this is a little off topic but...

I was just eyeing Vitale at the pharmacy here and the whole 4 step system. Looks like a great product and I was logging on this evening to find out more about it. I also want to go straighter.

Can you tell me more about this relaxer and what is the differences between the types?

I got it from a black owned BSS here you have to be licensed though. When I tried the pro regular I didn't like it compared to the Vitale Life & Body regular that I always use, it was too strong for my hair.

I've never had a problem with my relaxer expiring, I do use them up within a yr. but I have them longer than 4 months. I just make sure to mix it really well before removing what I will be using.

I usually find this relaxer at any of the local asian owned BSS with no license. The Vitale I purchase isn't the Pro line.

Hi vkb247,

I gotta say I am jealous you that you can get Vitale locally. I have only used the Vitale Pro High comfort. It is lye, and I always get such great results with it. I have never burned, and it is easy to texlax, or get your hair bone straight with it. It comes in a jar, and I don't have to mix anything. It's the only relaxer I ever used that left my hair feeling soft and supple and not all flat and dry. I know there is a difference between the regular Vitale and Vitale Pro, but forgive me, I don't know much about the other Vitale relaxers.

Now, it seems you can't get the Pro line without a license.
