Today I had to set my self back by trimming my hair. I was hoping for armpit length by June 2007 but have to press on for August.

Now, the other thing is my left side is growing like weeds and my right is behind by 11/2 inches. Do any of you ladies have this problem:ohwell: ?

What can you suggest other than cutting one side to match the other:perplexed ?

The same nosey parker woman at work who said “my hair would not grow in the winter” mentioned that “your hair looks strange with different lengths, if it were me I would cut it”. Mind you I did not ask her for her opinion.

Is it me alone or is there anyone else going through the same thing?

Any ideas will be appreciated, thanks in advance ;)

LOL!!!! This morning I was thinking the same thing and was wondering if there was a post about it. I had looked in the mirror today, saw that my ends, (No matter how much moisturizer I put before I baggied) would always be dry and needed to be done away with and decided to get a trim. Then I wondered, why is the right side of my hair longer and thicker than the left side?? Then I remebered my aunt saying that there's always one side of your body that's more dominant which is why one foot is always slightly bigger than the other, one boob is bigger than the other, one side of hair grows faster and thicker, etc. So I guess, no, you'e not alone!!

Your hair is looking great to me, but I know that it's about how you feel.

Could it be that your product line is supereffective but you're shortchanging one side of your hair? Do you sleep on that side of your head at night?

Maybe you could use more product on that side and really massage it in and just do protective styles for awhile to give your entire scalp a break and gain length. Or you could ONLY use your product on that side of your head?

I don't know. Just throwing out ideas!:)

My left side is extremely shorter than my right for some odd reason. It grows very very slow! Its also a different texture ...couldn't tell ya whats the grain.

Its funny though because I sleep on my right side, but its the stronger, longer and thicker side. I baby the left side of my hair but it just won't take off!!...Its brittle, doesn't hold moisture and heaven forbid If I try to groom it. I just have to leave it along and let it have its way. Its trying though. Its about 2 inches shorter than the other side. Very noticeable.

Now that you mention this , I remember that as well. I guess I have never had to deal with this when it came to my hair , as it has never been this long and healthy for me to even notice:look:

I had about a two inch difference, which I gradually trimmed off. I think my former stylist was hatin' on me a did it herself though.

OMG!!! I was just talking about this to me girlfriend about an hour ago! She is having the same problem. My hair is crazy uneven and no matter how long it's getting, the problem is NOT correcting itself. My hair grows long in two places: front-left and back-right. My hair is quickly approaching APL and I ain't about to cut it!:lachen:

That's me, my left side is shorter than my right but I sleep on my right side.

:swearing: That's the same way I feel. but get this. I got my hair cut about a month ago because the right side was longer than the left so i got it all cut evenly. Now guess what. My left side is now longer than the right. Yall
know its driving me up the wall but i ain't about to cut it again.:swearing: I also have two different textures. my right side is always nice and shiny and healthy looking and the left just has a mind of its on. i do the same to both sides though so they should be equal. I thought i was the only one.

Based on what I'm reading here, maybe the side you sleep on gets 8 hours of protective styling for the night. LOL!!

My right side is always behind,I made the mistake of trying to even it out VAROIUS times just to find that it's still behind... oh well:lol:

Yes, my right side is growing faster than my left, especially in the back. I keep doing little mini trims (I mean mini too;) ) just to try and even it out.

I was just stressing about this in the mirror last night. My right side is nice and thick and growing nicely. The left is significantly thinner and just a little shorter. I have noticed it a lot more since I started on BT. I don't know what to do. The first thing I am going to try is doing extra massages with my new Hair2Heaven Stimulate oil and using JBCO on the thinner side only. It's like I have two different heads of hair fused together. This is going to be my new personal challenge.

Maybe you are concentrating more with the BT on your right side than your left. I think that is my problem too, so I'm going to make sure to even out the oil on both sides and see what happens.

But, I have heard ladies who said this happens to them as well and they have never used BT, so that might not be the culprit.

Blessings.

I have a similar but slightly weird problem. My right side is shorter than the left side. But the right side is all natural and the left side side has a lot of relaxed hair. Also the right natural side is much thicker than the left side, the left side is extremly thin. I hope I didn't confuse ya:cool:

The left side is beautiful... think and healthy... right side is a mess.. I trimmed 2 inches in Sept. to even it up, grew back the same way. I am going to leave it alone when I hit my goal of mid back, then I will worry about it.

Currently, my left side is thicker and slightly longer than my right
and the back of my head is much thicker than the front.

Maybe the sections of the hair go through their "phases/ growth periods" at different times?

Maybe a year from now, the reverse will be true and everything that seems "off" will catch up?

Sometimes the cells in the body have a mind of their own.....

My hair is close to the same length all around. The front is shorter b/c it was always in bangs. However, I notice the right side of my hair is thicker than the left.

Yep, my left is much shorter than the right but I'm going to attribute this to the fact that I'm right-handed, so I probably put more focus on the left side of my hair than the right. Also I sleep on my left so that doesn't help. I also noticed that the back of my head, the hair there isn't as long. Now, I'm perplexed:perplexed because I don't have a lot of access to the back so I don't understand why it's in the shape it is. Now I figure, if any part of my hair would be damaged it would be the front because I can handle that section very well, but other areas are very difficult to reach so I don't understand. Anyway, now that I'm in braids, and no longer visiting beauty salons, Im going to concentrate on the back and my left side to see what I can do to encourage growth and maintain length. Damn, if it's not one thing it's another..

Yep, my right side has always been longer and thicker than the left side. I was told it was because I sleep on my left side, so I'm trying to train myself to sleep on the right side (or on my back), since that doesn't come natural to me. Also, I used to wrap my hair from right to left, and never reversed the direction, which also caused the left side to be thinner. Now that I know better, I hardly ever wrap...and if I do, I use the crosswrap method. I will say that now that I'm taking better care of my hair, the left side is starting to fill in nicely.

That happens to me and it drives me nuts. My right back side grows faster than the rest of my hair super fast. I'll even cut it to even it out and it will still pass up the rest of my hair a couple of months later.

I don't know how mine got uneven, but the right side was 1.5 inches longer than the left. I cut them even in March of 2006. They are still even. :yep:

We are not alone , no more cutting !:lachen:
