I want blunt thick healthy looking hair. When I reach APL, I'm cutting it!

My ends are whispy and I don't like them. I trimed about 1/8 inch after my 6 month relaxer stretch. Still whispy.

Does this defeat the purpose????

I am. Right now all of my layers are gone from my previous cut so once I hit full APL in the front and back I will cut the front into a layered look again.

Im still trying to grow BSL hair, but im going to grow it to waist first, then cut it :yep: So i can have all even blunt layers

I dont think it defeats the purpose if it needs to be cut....how much will make your ends "non whispy"?

My siggy shows me before I trimmed it. I think it'll be 2 to 3 inches to achieve what I'm looking for. But I'm not totally sure. I think my ends are a reflection of the bad habits I had for so long. :nono:

When I braid my hair the braid is long but comes to a very tiny point. YUK!

I'll be APL by the end of FEB..I'll be getting a cut to have fresh end for the rest of the year, that will probably mean 1 1/2 will have to go..oh well ..a girl has to do what a girl has to do.

Yep... I'm just trying to decide how long to let it grow BEFORE I get the blunt cut. But, that cut is definitely coming. I'm thinking I will get the cut when all of my hair gets to SL. But, I may just go ahead and get a trim with my next relaxer in about 5-6 weeks.

Yeppers.:yep: I'm on a mission to get back to BSL just so I can start cutting off my relaxed ends.

ITA!!! When I get 3 inches past BSL, I'm cutting 3 inches! Dusting in the meantime, though.

Surely am doing that. I am inches away from bra strap but want to go a few inches beyond then snip! Off go the old no-lye ends. I have decided bra strap-shrinkage lower level is my point.

I want blunt MBL so when I get to BSL, I am going to cut it...I've been tempted several times to cut it now (I'm at APL) but I am holding out...

I am as well, right now the only thing I will be doing is dusting my ends until the end of the year, but I'm waiting until full bra strap until I get an even blunt cut. I'm a sucka for thick ends :grin:Im thinking 2-3 inches will have to go as well.

I am. I only want to get to APL because then my natural hair will be long enough to BC... Plus I just wanted to be full APL for once while I still have a few inches of relaxed hair.

When November rolls around I'm going to be whipping those scissors out and having a ball!

I have, I was 2 inches pass brastrap and I just chopped off 1.5 inches. I was tired of braiding my hair and having the ends thin. So, a week ago I bravely put my hair in 8 plaits and proceeded to chop off 1.5 inches. I'm pretty happy with the result so I think I will continue doing this every couple of months till I can get a uniformly thick braid. Good luck!

My hair grows in a V so I am trying to grow it past BSL and then cut it to a nice blunt shape at my strap! I dream about this day! But I do not think I will just be able to cut off the V in one setting, I will probably have to slowly trim from there. At that point, I am not sure what will be next...

Wow, a lot of folks are cutting their own hair. Brave ladies! I do find that my beautician (who I rarely go to now) really hates to cut any real length off. But I hate skraggly ends!

I better invest in some good scissors. I got mine from my son's clipper kit.

you should get a good pair of shears instead.

I am. I am trying to grow out layers and make my hair even. I have not cut it in MONTHS so it is time for a trim soon, but I am going to do an aggressive cut eventually.

I MUST get rid of these bone straight lye relaxed ends, as well as get my hair even.

I need my length right now for wearing my hair up, though.

girl-- what you talkin about!! My hair is in NEED of a CUT - past a trim!!! I was trying to get to armpit and then cut - but I'm stuck at past shoulders.

i've been toying with this idea again. i cut layers since my natual hair looked funky all one length when short. but now my "bangs" reach my cheeks and are actually collarbone length when i flat iron my hair (whereas the longest layer is below APL). at some point when that hair is long enough i would like to cut my hair up to the shortest layer. i know that means i'll lose a good amount of length though... :look: maybe when the front reaches APL or BSL.

we shall see... :yep:
