Anyone going to Essence Music Festival this year?? How are you wearing your hair?

I'm going to N.O this weekend for Essence, and I REALLY want to straighten my hair, but I hear it's going to be rainy Anyone going? If so how are you styling your hair? I'm a natural and I need inspiration!

Im going. Im going to do a blowout and then set it by using something non-water based and corn row it for a braid out...I figure that might be okay. I DEFINITELY can't even think about straightening....if I get rained on then I will opt for wash and go's over the weekend

I am going and I live in New Orleans - do not straighten your hair! You will be ticked off because New Orleans has 100% humidity on a daily basis even when it is not raining. Go with a natural style! I think I am going to do a flexi-rod set. have fun

I absolutely agree. Anyone that tries to straighten their hair for this weekend will be disappointed. Its rained every day this week so far and is supposed to this weekend too unfortunately. Natural all the way.

I'm in NOLA right now, not for essence unfortunately but for the NEA conference. I have been here nearly a week and I learned quickly that the humidity is out of CONTROL.
I've been walking around with mine in a banana clip most days b/c I can't do anything else w/ it. When I set on flexirods and wear it down, it is limp and puffy within 30 mins. BTW I'm relaxed but 14 weeks post. Sorry this post doesn't really help u!
