I'm asking this because I started the stay natural in '08 and now I'm itching to relax! Don't get me wrong, I love my natural texture. I just can't do it myself anymore. I am not skilled at doing my hair, and honestly, most of the time I look a mess. My hair looks just as good as it did in 6th grade when my mom stopped doing it for me. I am single and want to get back into the dating, but I look tore up most of the time. I live in a small town, and their are no natural shops in the area. With a relaxer, I could get a wash and set every two weeks and look more put together. I feel myself slipping, help!

Maybe you could go and get a cute wig, some braids (not too small) or a weave so that you can leave your hair alone for awhile.:yep:

ETA: As a natural, you can still go and get a wash and set every other week. Maybe have them set your hair on Flexi rods. They look cuter the older they get, IMO. Maybe a cute bun. Some nice accessories.

Yea girl, don't give up yet! :woot: I joined your challenge because I am trying to stay natural for my first time ever! I usually have my hair in braids so really having to take care of and style my natural hair is a new challenge for me. How have you been doing your hair?

this probably isn't much help but... i failed your challenge, lol. (it's not really a failure because i'm happy with my hair relaxed.) i'm not trying to persuade you either way but don't do something that you will regret later. i agree that you should get a weave/wig/or braids, to give your hair && mind a rest. then make a decision.

I agree with the other ladies. BTW, I never joined any challenges because I was afraid that I would fail.:perplexed But, I have been consistant with using MN (I guess because I stared seeing results almost immediately).

Maybe I'll get braids. I can never keep them more than 6 weeks before they fuzz out, but that may give me enough time to get my head right. I'm just afraid they will be kind of hot after awhile. My real hair is SL so the braids will have to be at least APL.
