I think it may be seasonal. I was shedding a lot this time last year and started diong garlic treatments and that helped. I used an entire package (12 cubes) of Trader Joes frozen pureed garlic in olive oil with a bit of honey

YEP that is my Garlic!!!:lick: For Cooking and hair!

I've heard the tea whispered about on the board. Which tea are you using?

I used black tea mixed with orange pekoe, it worked great! The next time I washed I had less shedding. Plus it smells better than the garlic conditioners & oil that i tried before.

Yep. I don't know whether its postpartum, or just my season to shed. Long strands with the bulbs.

Anyone know if garlic pills work?

The shower drain is eating my hair....I'm shedding big time. I have a combination of dry, rough cuticle, shedding hair.
It's either WEN, Weather, or Homonal?

Any ideas?

I am using OCT again my bottle came in last week and I always see an increase in shedding when using OCT. Everytime i comb my hair, I try not to brush it that much, there is hair in the comb, on my shirt, on the bathroom counter, hair everywhere. I dont have handfuls of shed hair, but its enough to make me a little worried. So I dunno if my shedding is abnormal. I often say "I'm shedding like a dog in the winter time"

Cinnamon and sole shampoo and conditioner work well for me....I have to warn you tho...cinnamon and sole work by tightening your scalp and new growth....your new growth will get kinkier...So if you are newly relaxed i wouldn't....

or use it without heat!!! with heat it gets kinkier the roots

Thanks for reminding me. I have some here and it did help me last year when I had a shedding fit.

I though shedding was normal.I shed like crazy all the time. i stopped worrying about it as my hair is not thinning, i have no bald spots, and im retaining length.
Shedding is normal. However there are certain things that help curb it, especially if you're going through a period where its a bit excessive.

The last time I washed my hair (2 days ago) I shed like a mutha... lol. I was first concerned but I realized that it was probably because of my use of the MT again. And I also know that hair goes through cycles.. so I'm just assuming its a cycle. My hair has barely shedded ALL YEAR, and perhaps because my hair is getting longer and thicker I'm not used to this kind of shedding. I'm not worry though (yet :look:)

Your hair might be shedding at its normal rate. You said you don't flat iron often. Maybe your straightened hair allows the shed strands fall easier. With your hair curly, the shed strands might stay caught in your hair until you detangle rather than falling freely.

I shed all the time, long strands, short strands. They are everywhere in the bathroom. I don't see any damage anywhere so I thought it was ok. :look:

girl my hair is falling out like crazy as well. I did a protein treatment two weeks in a row and really cannot tell yo if my hair is still falling out because i wear my hair in a twist out for the whole week and do not come my hair until I co-wash it. My hair has never done this and it is indeed driving me crazy.

So I'm sick of spending anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes picking hair off the bathroom floor..Just purchased some Alter Ego garlic conditioner because this nonsense has got to stop..:perplexed:sad:

I shed every winter. I figure my new "coat" is coming in. LOL

I don't SEE any damage, but who knows? I'm relaxed with a blow out every other week, so no telling; we'll see what happens when I hide my hair next month.

I'm shedding to the point where it's ridiculous and unfortunately in my case, my hair has started to thin. I usually shed during the winter months. But I just recently had surgery (12/19) and I think anesthesia has increased my shedding by three fold. I don't know what to do. Anyone have suggetions ?
