Anyone applying MSM Powder on the hair itself?

I've read from some on this board that the powder can actually be applied directly to the hair. How is this done? is it taken as it is and just poured onto the scalp? done on wet or dry hair? It just sounds a bit odd to put MSM powder directly into the hair as I didn't know it could help the hair that's already grown out of the scalp anyway. I thought it only worked from the inside out?

Is the powder mixed in with shampoos and/or conditioners? Please let me know.

Does anyone notice a difference in doing this in addition to ingesting it?

Thanks.

No, but I use MSM lotion on a thinning spot on my right temple. I read on another board that it helps with this, but I haven't used it long enough to see results yet.

i use the lotion as well. when i cut my hair i plan on mixing the lotion with glovers mane. now it is mixed with castor oil and it works great

I apply one teaspoon of MSM to my herbal rinses, and I found it is very good, my hair is a lot stronger. I am very happy with the results.

Hi BRH,.

I have just started mixing MSM powder in to my conditioner for my condition washes. In fact I just shampooed my hair with an MSM enriched conditioner and am now sitting with my moisturizing conditioner.

I dilute the MSM powder in a small of amount of spring water and then mix it into the conditoner.

I don't know if it is helping with hair growth as I do not have straight hair. But I think that it helps provide sulfur to the hair and scalp and this is a good thing. I read somewhere that the nutrients in shampoos and conditioners do stay on the hair and scalp after rinsing.

MSM lotions and creams are supposed to aid skin repair. I figure that topical application of MSM to the hair and scalp will produce similar results as topical application of MSM lotion to the skin.

I am not sure of what signs to look for, but I think that I have increased the moisture content of my hair and have improved the condition of my hair cuticles. I have more curl definition, more smoothness, less frizzyness and it does not feel as dry as it used to.

If you already have powdered MSM I'd say give it a try.
