I know that I have joined a couple. But they just feel so restrictive. Makes me feel like a hair nazi! :lachen:

I just like to go with the flow...:drunk:

 I'm not a fan. Like, I'm in Bootcamp - and I canna remember the last time I updated. I'm in the MT/OCT Challenge, but that's because I'm greedy, and I like the camaraderie. Urm....... I'm in a couple of others, but I generally suck at them. I might not break any actual challenge rules.... but I'm not a very good challenger.

:look: My problem is that most of the challenges I join aren't really a challenge (like the Wear your Hair Up for a Year one on tLHC) because I do everything in the rules already. :lachen:

I don't have anything against them, they just aren't for me. I don't think I've ever joined one and don't plan on it. It's kinda like going on a diet, lol.....too restrictive and I just can't hang.

I totally just like to do my own thing.

I feel bad because I've joined some then updated a few times and then just completly and totally fell off.
I did so horrible in the Vitamin Challenge. I'm thinking about starting back up. but I think the last time I took them was in April :look:.

Yeah, I'm not joining any *official* challenges any time soon .

agreed. For me it changes "it" from being fun to being a chore.

I don't mind challenges like dc'ing and keeping up with vitamins or water intake. It's the "this length by this date" challenges that I don't like.

I've never done one and I dislike the underlying theme, but I understand why some use them. They can get people out of bad habits carried over a lifetime, but I also wonder if the added stress of maintaining the routine plus the anticipation about the growth creates the opposite effect.

I agree. I'd hate to get my hopes up and then don't reach the goal length at the end of the challenge.

I really like hair challenges, I sort of did my own from being inspired by the bootcamp( it's in my profile) and it helped out! I only started learning about hair in October so I needed to do something to truly push myself to be more disciplined mainly with my eating habits, putting heat on my hair and it was also recovery for my hair. Challenges are not about being perfect, but it just makes you more conscious of what you are doing, and prepares you for just a healthy hair lifestyle.
In fact I need to join some more challenges on here...but I'm taking a break

I hear you. My hair likes to do it's own thing and that can change so quickly! Sooo sometimey, you know!! I have to follow my hair.

Am I just rebellious? I've joined a few, but none that are too restrictive as far as what I can/can't do like no heat, etc and I always do what I wanna do anyway...

I've never officially joined a challenge because I tend to fall off wagons easily. I'd rather "unofficially" do them and keep it to myself. Then if I suddenly stop, it's no biggie.

i definitely like to do my own thing! when it comes to certain regimens...baggying, bunning, wearing your hair up, DCing, etc...i can't hang. i've just never been a fan of having a set regimen, unless it's really, really SIMPLE. like the OP i just go with the flow....

i only joined one challenge which was transitioning without the BC and of course i didn't last. don't plan on joining anymore.
