Any updates from Nexxus Pilot Program Users??

Okay ladies, here is my three week update using the Nexxus products recommended by Shamboosie. I started his moisturizing program for dry, brittle, no lye hair on October 8th. Last night was my fifth use (2x's wk) of these products (Therappe shampoo, Humectress and Keraphix conditioners) and my hair feels wonderful!! It is soft. There is no dryness, the brittleness is gone and its easier for me to manage even with major outgrowth. Finally, something that worked!! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now this is also similar to the program that he suggests prior to his 24 month growth program. You basically start the conditioning treatments prior to your touch up. I'm due for mine this Saturday!! /images/graemlins/smile.gif So, afterwards I will start another program that he recommended for me via e-mail to keep my hair moisturized and well conditioned until I can grow this no-lye hair out using a combination of dudley and nexxus products.

Will keep you posted on that when it happens. HHG

Nita - i am so glad this is working for you! How neat! It failed so many that I wondered what was up.....it didn't work for me ultimately but I am SOOO happy something clicked for you.

I know how that can feel....what was his personal recommendation for your hair?

I'm glad it's working too. My hair was so dry, nappy and hard. I don't mind it being nappy (out growth), but please not dry and hard. /images/graemlins/shocked.gif

On my next touch up he recommended that I use a Dudley's conditioning lye relaxer - mild. And to use the Dudley's deluxe shampoo, continue with humectress, use the dudley's PCA moisture retainer and the creme press. And of course the Keraphix every 4th week. He mentioned some other products by Dudley's to maintain my hairstyle if I were to wear my hair down, but I won't need any of those yet. He also gave me instructions on how to and how much to use. I plan on doing this for 24 months - God willing. Of course with updates back to him on my progress.

Nita4:

I am glad the program is still working for you too. I am still following it...sort of...I modified it using Elucence Products. My hair is still really soft and I am not losing more than a few strands in the comb.

Nita,

Thanks for sharing. It's great to hear about your success

I started using Shambooies program faithfully on my daughters back in April or so.. right before I joined this board. You see, she turned twelve she thought she was grown and started taking care of her own hair (rubber bands/high ponytail/sleeping with no scarf)- well needless to say most of hair broke off - it was dry/brittle/coming out all over the place

After the first month, of the program; washing ever three days' deep conditioning, the Emergencee, and Keraphix treatments....and so forth her hair had definitely transformed.

Now just about 6 months later there is little to no shedding or breaking. Here hair is full, growing fast, and moisturized and very healthy looking again. I definitely see that it has worked. The funny things is - I've been trying all these other products on myself - getting my PJism on... and my hair does not seem to be doing as well as her's. I think I may stick with NExxus - soon as I try one more product line..

I love Nexxus products and have been a faithful user for about 13 years! It has never failed me, the products may be expensive but it's worth it!

DJD,

When we first started we:
1. washed with Therapy (2X - leave phoo on for 3 min)
2. Did a Emergencee treatment (20/30 min w/heat)
3. Followed up with Humatress (30 min w/heat)
4. Applied headress leave in (roller set then wrapped)
Then..... every 3/4 days
Wash w/Therapy
Conidtion with Humatress
Apply Headress leave-in

After a month repeat the Emergencee.

We've also added mixing pure Aloe Vera Gel to the headress for the roller sets. The set comes out very soft with body.

Oh... and somtimes - instead of emergencee I do Keraphix - then Humatress. Depends on how her hair feels.

No I don't think it's a must. Sometimes I do put her hair in a bun. Especially if there is a lot of new growth. You should style your hair as you normally do.

If you use heat Shamboosie suggest putting - Dudly's cream press on the ends.

Zuppy, seems to me that Shamboosies routine will produce strong, long and healthy hair just by following the steps and maybe using other good quality products and not just Nexxus. What do you think? Perhaphs its the moisture and strength you gain from the routine that allows the increased hair growth.

I am another faithful user of Nexxus products on my 4 a/b hair for many years and I can depend on it working for me each and every time. I learned in recent months how to use Nexxus correctly (even incorrectly it worked!), such as leaving my Humectress in my hair for at least 30 minutes with a cap instead of 3 like it says on the bottle. My hair loves the Botanoil shampoo even more than the Therappe although I have both and the Headress is such a great leave-in. It may cost more but it's worth it to me.

He's actually personally advocated other brands via emial for some of our members right here on LHCF!

Elucence is one that comes to mind (I imagine given that, Kenra would generally be ok too) but I think your instincts are right Moez....any "high quality hair care product" (read: salon quality) will produce comparable results to Nexxus. I happen to love their stuff - but I don't think it's as mandatory as it sounds at first blush in the book.

I agree wth Tracey on the products- as well as washing more than once per week - and being more concious and careful with your hair.

[/ QUOTE ] So the basic routine runs kinda like this, right?: Wash 2x per wk w/moisturizing shampoo, use protein treatment 1x per month, use moisturizing conditioner under dryer 20-30 minutes, then do a leave-in treatment and protective style. Do I got it or what?

Ok - I wasn't gonna give them this much credit....

But I'm definitely becoming some kind of a Nexxus freak....I am falling in love with this line.

Slowly but surely this is what I'm starting to use almost routinely (and quite involuntarily - it's just that nothing else is doing the trick!

) :

Lanza PP or Nexxus Therappe or Lanza DC
Nexxus Humectress
Nexxus Keraphix

I still use other conditioners for when I want a little more strand hardening than the Keraphix gives me, but I use THOSE like once a month. I rotate the Keraphix and the Humectress wash to wash - one wash with H, the next with K, the next with H...and so on...

My hair is feeling very very healthy despite quite a bit of blatant and rampant abuse (back to back to back colorings - some of them not more than a day apart) and my hair is FINE. Happy even.

I'm pretty impressed by Nexxus. My hair was beginning to feel just slightly nuts at one point (and the shedding was scaring me - even tho mine is seasonal and I know that) and Nexxus has been "talking it off the ledge" in a big way!

Glad these products are working for you Tracy. Personally, I love Humectress...that and the UANs Crema will now be my staples. Keraphix is my protein condit. of choice, and Headdress w/o oil mixed in is one of my favorite leave-ins.
