Cut most of the extensions out up till where your ends are.
Then do a deep conditioning to loosen stuff up
Then use a rat-tail comb to begin to loosen it. Also the deep conditioning might let some braids just slide off.

I wouldn't wash my hair prior to but I would put some product on the hair mixed with oils and you could DC with it. I would get the combs with the metal tip at the end (used for color) and give yourself PLENTY and PLENTY of time. Don't plan anything. If you can do it over a couple of days. Start in the back and when you get tired, you can do a bun and keep it moving until you're ready to finish it
When I wore micros, I would take them down dry. I have found that adding anything like water or conditioner would make my hair matted hella … I either used my fingers or a rat tail comb. Good luck with the process!!!
