Any reviews on Designer Touch Texturizer (as a relaxer)

Does this act as a relaxer to straighten hair?

I use the Designer Touch texturizing mild relaxer to texturize my hair and it made my hair curly instead of wavy. I think it is made specifically for texturizing and they manufacture a relaxer separately to straighten your hair. I remember when I went to the beauty supply store I got this instead of Elasta QP relaxer and the Designer Touch relaxer because I was afraid my hair would become straight and also mainly because it said texturizing on the jar.

I bought it but I never used it. I was scared that it was more of a texturizer than a relaxer. I wanted a relaxer that would not make my hair bone straight, however I just couldn't build up the courage to use this relaxer. It is still sitting in my cabinet completely unused and unopened.

I loved this stuff and wish i never stopped using it. My hair had curls galore and i hated that before LHCF. To get the hair straight I gave myself a mini dominican blow out.

I'm still wondering too candycane. I checked again on the website and found that this is the only lye (texturizer) relaxer they carry. I'm wondering if this the same lye relaxer that the other ladies are using.

I even emailed them but their email isn't working.

They have the relaxer separately which is called the Designer Touch Straight FX NO Mix - NO Lye Relaxer and then there is the texturizer which is called the Designer Touch Texturizing Relaxer. I don't know if this cleared up your confusion. Some of the ladies here use a relaxer to texturize their hair while some use a texturizer instead of a relaxer.

Thanks I've know about the FX but it's no lye. The texturizer relaxer is the only lye they have.

I did. This stylist that I use to go used this relaxer. When I first started going to her she said that my hair was overprocessed and that she was going to use a milder relaxer on me. She used the Designer Touch in the Mild strenght. My sister who was natural and started relaxing used this relaxer (in mild) and she had nice waves when her hair was wet, when she would rollerset, her hair would dry straight (we both have 4 type hair). Unfortunately, that sylist moved away and I stopped using that relaxer. You bringing up this subject is actually making me want to use this relaxer again.

I've also used it and likes the results. My hair retained some curl, and wasn't bone straight, but was straight enough to be easil straightened by any of the traditional means.

Thank you so much Nice and Tracy. I use the Phyto like you Nice and I do like it but for the most part my hair is just dry. I moisturize a lot which I don't mind but I don't think my hair should be this dry. So I'm in search of a gentle lye relaxer that I can apply myself.
