That you've done yourself or had done at the salon. Please, share your tips--and post pics if you have them! Thanks!!! :)

Thanks for posting the album, so1913! Anyone else? I'm planning to either do this myself or get it done at the salon sometime in the next month, but I want to see/hear from others who have done it.

LOL, I forgot! I had half my head rod set for a wedding last december (I don't have pics, but front was flat twisted and the curls pinned up for an updo). She used setting lotion which I think allowed it to come out smooth and frizz free, pretty much the same if done on relaxed hair. Curls don't "fall" like they do on relaxed hair and last longer. If you know how to rod set or have patience to learn and practice, I'd say try it at home. I bought some rods not too long after the wedding to try it myself, but forgot all about them and haven't tried it.

I've set my hair on flexirods before w/ my hair pressed but I don't have any pics. I have also set it on my hair in its natural state. Also, more recently I took a shorter route of doing this style but twisting my hair and rodding the twists...here is the result.

Ntrl, that style turned out beautifully! Thanks for sharing. I'm gonna have to try that because I do twistouts all the time. Do you use setting lotion?

If I will wear it curly, I normally use a creamy leave in, setting lotion and curl wax. If I plan to wear it straight I user a lighter leave in, and sometimes I use setting lotion.

If I am not setting my whole head like in the following pic I don't sit under the dryer, it is usually still damp but it never frizzes up

For this set I sat under the dryer because I was going somewhere that day

Thanks ladies for the tips! I hope soon to be natural and to be able to do these styles. I have soo much learning to do.
