Any fine haired ladies on the board?

My mom has fine and thin hair and yes she does keep it short. Only short hair works for hair. Her stylist told her to keep it short.

However, when she was younger she washed, rolled with magnetic rollers, and set under a hooded dryer...and she loved her long hair then. Also, she slept with wire rollers every night (just like every female did in those days). Now, curling irons made her lazy.

I know that I have fine strands but over-all my hair is not thin...I do plan on keeping a layered style. I only want two layers though.

Fine hair over here. It is harder to grow it long and keep it from looking thin. But I'm determined to reach my goals. If I never get there, of well, @ least my hair will be healthy. :) BTW, you can't see my scalp.

P.S....I find all my fine hair needs to look good as it grows is a rollerset. When I wear one you would never guess my hair is fine and thin. I don't use anything to increase volume either. Just a leave in and some serum.

I agree. I've recently started with my rollersetting again and my hair loves me for it. I don't see what's so bad about fine hair--it gets a lot of criticism. I didn't even know that my hair was fine until now. I plan let is get as long as it will grow. Fine hair just needs more tlc. You have to know what's best for your hair and stick to it.

My hair is fine, but if you look at my photos, you will see that fine hair does not have to be short to look nice. I am growing mine out to bra-clasp and will see what that looks like. As my layers have grown out, I've noticed my hair looks thicker. It's still fine, but there is more of it. I think think that it's not how fine it is, but how thick or thin it is.
