I'm *still* thinking about trying the curve curly pudding for this "shingling" stuff they're doing. Is everyone over this or has anyone tried it and liked it? I'd love to hear what the 3c/4a mixtures think of this...

Well, I don't know what the heck shingling is,but it sounds like it should be left only to professionals:lol: Just kidding, but I have been thinking about purchasing the pudding, just because I was considering the kinky-curly products and they cost just as much as the curve stuff. If I were you,I would try their 'kinks to curls' method, leaving out the part where they suggest you sit under the dryer. I tried this method and I did not sit under the dryer. All I did was after I applied the products, I let my hair airdry just a bit, then I did a shake and go. The results were quite nice:yep: Shingling seems like it would take all day and night. I think they take small strands of hair and twist them around their fingers- am I right?

although i think the whole curve kinks to curls method sounds a bit tedious, i think i may try this method out one day and see what i come up with. i have my old jar of curly pudding collecting dust in the cabinet so i might as well finish it off.

Leave the curly pudding alone! It feels so gunky and it smells way too strong.
I gave my jar away to good will.

For anyone who's not familiar with it, they have a full and I mean FULL demonstrating on the site (www.curve-salon.com). Yes, it does seem tedious and it dawned on me that it might not work so great on relaxed hair. I didn't realize the kinky curly products were about the same as the curve products. Interesting. Anywho, still thinking about going natural, still thinking of trying the curly pudding...blah, blah, blah. I think I need someone to make decisions for me. *stupid look*

Yeah, that is a full demonstration. I'm not sure that I'd be patient enough to do all of that. But the results are fantabulous.

This is the method I've always used. It's no different than the instructions that come with their products, but it wasn't specified as the shingling method. It is time-consuming, but I've gotten spectacular results from it, including second day hair with just a little touching up. I usually don't have time to sit under the dryer, but will either airdry or diffuse as much as I can before I'm out the door. I'm not a type 4, but I don't see why it wouldn't work just as well.

I do a modified "shingle" when I apply products for my shake & go.
I simpy apply products on wet hair in small sections, give my head a good shake (which allows the curls to clump & take form), then leave to air dry.

That is a great thorough explanation alright....it looks like the products help stretch out the natural curl pattern and they manipulate it with their fingers! That a great idea/ alternative...I love all these options.... :)

We ( ladies of color) all got it goin on ladies! .....ok, sorry for the tangent

if anyone has pics I would love to see them!

Hmmm the process doesn't look so bad to me!

ETA I wonder how it would work with other products. I remember seeing posts about a few products that were very similar, and cheaper, than Curve.
