How long do you have to wait before you reapply a relaxer if your hair doesn't take the first time?

excellent question (since I'm considering, ever-so-cautiously, texturizing my shoulder-lenghth natural hair with PHYTO and want to do this as precisely as possible so as to achieve the perfect balance between coily & curly, if this is scientifcally possible!)
