hello everyone. my hair is ear length and tapered in the back and i was thinking about growing my hair out using a wig until it is long enough for a bun. I am not sure if i can do the drawstring phony pony right now but anyway i would like some advice on and suggestions on taking care of my hair while wearing a wig. Also i would like to now if this is or is not a healthy method to use to start growing my hair out. i work out alot and i don't want to keep putting heat on my hair and i don't want sew-ins or braid extensions.

A wig isn't a bad idea. Make sure that you wash, condition, and deep condition once a week. Before you put on the wig, it would be good to moisturize your hair, braid it and cover it up.

Some good moisturizers are: Elasta QP mango butter, jojoba oil, coconut oil, ORS olive oil, and ORS carrot oil. You can use a pantyhose footie to cover your hair underneath the wig.

HTH!

WELCOME ABOARD.

Be sure to keep your hairline and nape are moisturzied when wearing your wig.
I usually wear cornrows when wearing my wigs.
