What kind of heat protectant/serum/product are the Dominicans applying to the hair right before they put the hot dryer and round brush in the hair to style. I noticed most people that get them has nice shine such as Kinikakes.

I bring my own protectant - Heat Protexx

Hi Janee!

The only thing that the Dominican ladies put in my hair post-washing is Infusium 23 Leave-In Conditioner (Original Formula). THey dont use any heat protectant...... I think the shine is a result of the wonderful shampoo and DC that I use (Nacidit Aceite de Olive Shampoo w/Avacado Cholesterol Cream Conditioner).

Afterward, i dont let them spray it with sheen or use any kind of serum or oil..... because my hair is SO fine/thin that any bit of oil can weight it down.

Oh, fyi, i think my hair also tends to look very shiny in the pics because of the lighting and so forth. :) With enough lights and a great flash, my hair looks way silky/shiny. Im not sure if it actually looks THAT great in person.

I knew you would come to the rescue. That's amazing. My hair is also fine/thin, so I'm careful of the products I use as well so my hair won't be become limp. I have already added several Dominican cond to my rotation and I do love them. I have the Tratamiento Aceite de Oliva and was going to order the poo as well and a rinse. Do you think this one is as good as Nacidit.

Thanks Jlove. That's good to know. I can't believe how they allow you to bring your own products.

Hi Sahrah,

How often are you going for blow outs? Is it damaging your hair?
My hairdresser is starting to style my hair weird, the longer it gets...

She also uses some kind of holding spray that I HATE.
