My hair isn't long enough to wrap around the bun. Does anyone have pics on how to make a bun using tracks?

bump...bump....I'm starting no heat challenge on Monday and want to know if anyone makes buns with tracks. I'm lost

Thanks for the link to the tutorial - just what I needed! I'm on my way to my own 3 month no heat challenge!!!!!!:) :) :)

Good luck on your challenge! :)

Back in college my hair was nape length. I would take a bit of wefts, part my hair in the back and insert the wefts (no pins or adhesive), and hold it in place while I brought my hair down over it. I then put it in a ponytail and proceeded to make a bun. It was a bit unorthodox but it worked very well. Now I just use the sock buns covered in silky panty hose! :D

JLove,

I don't make a bun really, but I have used a clip in piece to thicked my hair so that I can put it up.

My album is not open, but i will try to find some pics for you.

Ok, here is a picture.

This piece of wefted hair has several clips on it. I just clip it in and then put my hair up.

I sewed some clips on a piece of weft hair, but then I bought a nicer one online.

The one I bought was thicker and the clips were sewn on more tightly than I could get it.

I bought a set that had about 5 pieces, but I only used one for this style.

Oooohhh!!! Okay, that's what I'm aiming for! Off to the BSS to see if Mr. Lee (the owner :) ) has clip-in wefts... If he doesn't, I'll be back to get directions on how to make my own! I know y'all will help me...

Have a fabulous, glorious day! (I had an argument with my husband but I'm faking it 'til I make it!)

If he does not have the clips-ins i am sure he has the actual clips and thread for weaving. You can make them yourself. It took me forever to get it right, but I did it. :)

But, still the one I bought premade, was 10X better. It was not that expensive, either. I got them from this seller:

She shows the Yaki ones in the smaller sets, but you can email her and get pricing for other pieces in the Yaki.

For example, I purchased one 10 inch wide piece in Yaki color #1 even though it is not listed. She just sent me a Paypal invoice for it. I think she even sold me a 2 inch wide piece initially so that i could try it out.

Note: Her 1B is more light brown.

HoneyDew, HoneyDew! I went to Mr. Lee... He knows what I'm talking about but doesn't carry because there's no market for it around here (there also wasn't a market for the satin covered sponge rollers until I asked him to get them in and when he did they sold out in a weekend but, who am I and what do I know?)

So, I'm about to check out your website link and I'll report back.

BTW, I picked up the Olive Oil Serum... Girl. The bomb. God bless you. :notworthy

What I do is add a phony pony and then take the bottom of the pony and wrap it around it self.....take a pony tail holder and slide it over the bun to secure it in place. I also use bobby pins for parts of the hair that wont stay up, but most of the time the pieces that fall make it look more real.

I have pictures in my album. Nothing in much detail, but you can get an idea of what it looks like.
