I've been plauged by dry/itchy scalp for the past few weeks. I tried shampooing more, moisturizing more, rubbing my scalp, scratching, even actually oiling my scalp. Nothing seemed to be working.

I was lamenting things to me SO. My darling is of the "other persuasion" and knows nothing about african american hair, though he is very supportive. He made the simple suggestion "Hon, why don't you go easy on the product for awhile and see if that helps?" For the past few days that's exactly what I've been doing and my oh my has it helped. I'm still getting itches (probably while all the abrasions I put in during the intensive itching heal) but its much more tolerable now. FOr a minute it was so bad I thought I had lice.

I'm wondering ladies: Did any of you had similar/other heavy-handed-with-the-product/too much of a good thing experiences when you first started your hair journey?

PS: I've decided to push my relaxer back until my scalp has healed. I'm 8 weeks post now (my hair just hit neck length). How many more weeks should I stretch?
