Tell me yours and I'll tell you mine....Dimensions and Inches Thread

I've been thinking....sometimes that is actually a good thing...anyway, there seems to be several threads that ask questions regarding how long it took for someone to go from SL to APL or APL to BSL or BSL to your left pinky toe... well you get my drift and although I do feel such threads are informative and entertaining, they provide more of a nomial quantitative anlaysis due to hair growth being different in each individual and depending on what they are doing or not doing it can possibly alter their rate.

In order to provide a more substantial and useful index on an interval scale, I think it would be useful to know the actual length of the hair along with actual dimensions since several members would provide information regarding how tall they were or state they had a long neck so it varied with length of time to get from one point to another but if you were to use your actual measurements and relate that to the measurements of members along with what their hair length is you could set a more accurate timeframe for when your hair should reach a certain milestone e.g, My neck is 3.5 inches long, from my shoulder to the top of my AP is 5 inches long, measuring the hair at my nape reveals it to be 8.25 inches. so taking into consideration contures of the body and any misalignment that my have occured during measurement. I would say that in order for my nape hair to be completely at APL it would need to be 9 inches. If my hair was to grow a minimum of .5 inches a month barring no setbacks. I should achieve APL in 1.5 months calculated by the following (9-8.25)=.75/.5=1.5, whereas my crown hair is 10 inches and reaches my shoulders it would need to be 5 more inches to reach APL so with the same equation (10-5)=5/.5=10 more months before it reaches APL and so on and so forth......

So I hope this isn't to convoluted and members are willing to divulage some personal info like height, actual body length from one milestone to the next and current hair length...I think it would help some people figure out exactly what length their hair needs to get to in order to meet their goals and also how long it would take with their particular growth rate....you could also factor in trims like if you are going to cut 1/4 inch in jan...where you should be in may that sort of thing. Happy Calculating!
