My hubby complained about the smell of amla oil. I'm upset because I was really loving how it made my hair and ends feel. Is there a good E.O. I can add to it to make it smell better without messing it up? I want to keep using it but hubby can't stand the smell:ohwell: .

What does it smell like? Maybe you can use lavendar or peppermint oils to mask the smell.

The smell is a little bothersome. I have some on my hair today and it definitely lets you know it there. :lachen: Since, I'm a first time user, I have no idea what you could use but I hope someone has a suggestion.

I can't stand the smell of the dabur amla oil from the indian store it gives me a headache
Now I purchase the unscented amla oil from fromnaturewithlove.com

It does have a very distinky smell doesn't it? I use Lavendar oil to cut the smell of my mixture. I usually put 6-10 drops in.

OMG. Same here. I happen to like the smell and it seems very light. I guess my hubby has a more refined sense of smell or just being pregnant affects my olfactory senses. Can I mix maybe a jasmine or lavender with the entire bottle at a time? Anyone?

Wow! I really like the smell of the Dubar Amla Oil from the Indian store. I agree with the other posters: EO"s should take care of the odor.

It's funny that Preistess and I (and a few more ladies) was talking about this in another thread around here just the other day. I hate the smell of this stuff but love the way it works on my hair. Priestess suggested Lavender E.O. This is what she does to hers. I am going to try Lavender on my next use. I have peppermint EO and was going to use this. I think the family is use to smelling peppermint.

I am going to add the EO to my whole bottle. I will just start out slow and gradually increase. I have overdone it before with the EOs.

I mix it with EVOO and coconut oil.

It helps ALOT!! You can smell it, but not as much or as distinct.

I must try the EO too!

I'm gonna have to order this.

Yes, Dabur is smelly. My hubby thought it smelled like piss. I would experiment with other brands, there is an indian brand that doesn't use mineral oil. I'm looking into the link provided here.

Also, look into buying the powder and mix it into your own oils.
