Amla powder works much better IMO, but sometimes the oil is more convenient; so I have both.

I basically use mine as a final rinse before a wash n go or when I'm in braids.

I steep my amla powder (2 tablespoons) in about 4 oz of very hot water for about 10 minutes. Then I strain out the pulp and add about 16oz more water. I pour that over my hair and blot dry.

The pulp makes a wonderful facial scrub.

I haven't used the oil so I guess my opinion won't really count but I luv luv luv the powder. The pulp in it makes for a great "gentle scalp scrub". It sounds like it would be hard on your scalp but it's really just the oposite. It has made my new growth come in a LOT softer and I no longer have to add a leave in conditioner after I use the Alma powder. Just air dry and go. ;)

I use the Alma oil reguarly and love the results. So, just this past weekend I decided to use the Alma powder that was sitting under my sink. I made a paste out of it with water then put it on my dry hair. I then put on a shower cap and covered that with a scarf. I keep the Alma powder on for 1 hour. I rinsed out the powder and proceeded to condition wash. Afterwards, my hair was noticeably softer and my curls were really defined:D . I will continue with the Alma Powder it is a really good treatment.

I tried it last night but I think I may have used too much, I used a about 500 grams. I sieved the powder then poured water over the sieved power then sieved the pulp... think I might try a facial scrub next and a scalp rub next wash day
