Amla powder. What are you doing with it?

My PJ rash is starting to itch...LOL. I called my local Indian store and they have Amla powder for $1.99 they also sell the oil for the same price. I was wondering what you guys do with the powder. I put the oil in my MN mix and in one of my co-wash conditioners.

Also shikakai powder. The search feature isn't working for me right now. Sorry if these questions have been asked before.

I make it into a paste and apply it for like an hour then wash out. I add some shikakai powder to it also.

I use shikakai oil as a prepoo oil treatment. I use amla powder as part of my powder mix with shikakai. I make it into a paste with water and apply to my preoiled hair, rinse, then cowash and DC. My hair is in love!

I mix a measured 1/4 cup of amla and 1/4 cup shikaki powders with a cup or so of almond oil; simmer for an hour on the stove top until the oil is very warm and the powders clump on top bubbly. I then filter the cooled oil into an old Amla oil bottle. I add some grapeseed oil and vitamin E oil which preserves my concoction for a longer, mold free shelf life. I use it as one of my preferred sealing oils. Jasmine oil helps it smell good. The finished oil looks exactly like DABUR LITE AMLA OIL.

Are these methods making your hair grow?

I mean, who here has experience real growth?

I have only been doing this for a month so far so it's hard to tell if there's any measurable growth attributable to these methods. What I can say though is that my hair is definitely stronger and that the shedding and breakage has almost come to a halt.

I can't say for certain that I've experienced growth, but I can definitely say that I've seen less shedding/breakage....

Bumping for updates on the powder to oil mixes and hair growth. I'm about to do a mix similar to BrooklynSouth's.
