I've read about several ladies who do not use shampoo. I actually considered some of their regimens. My hair has never been better. Will actually wash every three months.

There are lots of ladies here that don't use shampoo.

I love shampoo so I don't see me ever not using it, LOL!

I'D like to try the no poo method. I have at least 5" of new growth, so I'd like to experiment to see if it will respond.

What exactly are you doing besides doing CW? List your products if you don't mind. TIA...

I have not used shampoo for the last 2 years except once when I mistook shampoo for conditioner. My hair loves co-washing and clarifying with baking soda.

I love love love ACV Rinses it gives my hair a beautiful curl defination and it's cheap
so I don't use shampoo

Co-washes are too!

I was never able to stretch my relaxers until I started washing my hair with baking soda. Shampoo always makes my new growth a little hard. Washing with baking soda makes my hair, even my new growth, really soft.

i DC on dry hair, then rince out. i do this every three days, then slap on some moisturizer (care free curl) thats it. thats my whole reggie

My hair acts like I tried to string it up and hang it when I even DC, so I gave up shampoo a long time ago. If only I could find a dc that leaves my hair not feeling like a stack of hay when dry I'll be set.

i have to say the TOP THREE, condtioners that i found to be the best are:

ors replenishing pak

cholesterol,

proteina de perla, by silicon mix

I havent shampoo'd in months, and I havent noticed that I need to. Cowashing, DC'ing, and ACV rinses have worked well for me. Although i do really want to try the Ayuvedic Herb Shampoo bar from chagrin valley. But thats just cause I want to start using Ayurvedia products and that bar looks reallllly good. But I dont really think I need shampoo at this point, my hair is thriving without it.

:ohwell: I was just wondering. :look: Do we Really need shampoo? my hair is pretty happy without it. anyone else?

You do condition wash though right??? You just don't use soapy shampoo? I have found that my hair does better when I don't wash it, deep condition it once a week then wash with soapy shampoo every other week or so. I'm just curious. Thanks for sharing!!! BTW Love tha hair!!

cowashing doesn't work for me too much build up BUT I am going to start not using shampoo I'll be trying indian powders instead. What do you ladies use instead of poo?

I haven't used shampoo in about 4 months and my hair doing great. I've been strictly using Wen and my hair loves it. I noticed a huge difference becuase it's easier to detangle.

i only DC and then rince out, so thats a DC and a CO wash all in one:grin:

I have been reducing my use of shampoos since starting my long relaxer stretch over a year ago. It seemed like when I used a shampoo, it got really dry and left a hard feeling to my tresses. I also found that when I conditioned only, that my hair responded to detangling a lot better as well.

If I do decide to use a little shampoo, (which isn't often by the way), I add conditioner or a little natural oil to it before putting it on my head. I get much better results this way also.

My natural hair doesn't seem to like pooing too much:nono:. I have been doing very little to my hair as of late and it has been thanking me for it.

This brings me to another point, it's time to give away some more of the poos I have left:yep::rolleyes:.

i haven't used shampoo in at least 4 years, & my hair has thanked me for it. no-poo is for real.:yep::grin:

Please share your regimines and how often you "wash" your hair for those of us that are considering the change.

I co-wash weekly with my hair in 8 plaits.
I use Lekair (49 cents at the bss near my job). It's extremely thick so I water it down by mixing it in an old Lekair jar with water. I put it throughout my hair and scalp. I scrub my scalp thoroughly and squeeze the braids. When I am done, I rinse very well. My hair is actually squeeky clean which I thought was something that was to be avoided but oh well it is...
After co-washing, I dc my hair with Queen Helene that is mixed with olive oil and coconut oil (30 minutes under medium heat; 30 minutes without heat). After I rinse my hair, I do an acv rinse (1 to 1.25 cups of acv and 10 cups of cold water). Actually, every time I rinse I use cold water. After that I moisturize with Lustrasilk mixed with castor oil and style
On the last week of the month, I add a protein dc. On the first week of the month, I substitute the co-wash with clarifying with baking soda (7 tablespoons mixed with 10 cups of water).

i do a mixture of baking soda and water and scrub it in whenever my hair feels dirty. thats about it!

Same here except I add honey for moisture. However, if I don't have a lot of build up I'll do an pre-oil/rinse, skip the baking soda wash, and end with an AVC rinse.
