get kinky? I love to wear ponytails/buns when my hair is growing out. It's like a testament for the love of my hair (relaxed or not). There doesn't seem to be too many others like that...most women seem to try to combat the kinks with gel, early touchup, etc.

Anyone here embracing that hairline?

I like my hair line when its growing out because it gets wavy and curly. I think someday I may get my hair texturized... because I really like my hair when it does that...especially my hairline

Sounds nice! I think I like it because it's a more cultured look.

Are you relaxed with plans to go natural and then texturized?

i'm glad to see it because i know that my hair is growing. my hairline is very tell-tell -- my hair is kinky, coily and puffy at the hairline so there is no way for me not to see it

Also i want my hairline to fill in more so any hair i see there is a good sign

I don't mind it when my edges get curly/fuzzy. I don't use any gel either when my new growth gets overwhelming. As long as it looks neat, I'm fine with it. I just apply the coconut oil to my scalp and put it back in a bun.

I hope you don't mean beady-beads! My hair line doesn't nap up, it curls up. Since I have new growth now, it's starting to frizz up.

lol not beady -beas!

...besides I think those only grow in the back for some people.

Carlie, sounds like we have the same routine here. A little shea butter, a few strokes of the brush and I'm ready to go.

I find a fuzzy hairline combined with bone-straight hair/ hairweave to be a contradictory look

But I agree curly newgrowth is better than no growth.

I love it too. My hairline gets curly and pretty. I never even realized this until I started going 4 months at a time without relaxing. It gave me a chance to see how nice my true hair texture really was...after hating it for so long. (still not ready to go all the way natural yet though.) Even when I do my touch ups I protect my edges to maintain some of the natural curl. I dont want to be bone straight EVER again.

I am liking my edges as they grow in these days...and mine aren't curly. It's proof that my hair is growing...and I think the texture looks more interesting that flat straight hair.

Ditto! I've found a new appreciation for the little curls and waves in my hair/hair line....... since joining the forum!!!!

I've been CO and bunning my hair since I'm around 10-11 weeks post but its become far more manageable...I don't like it to get frizzy though so I've learned to moisturize and condiion the area

I kinda like it! I guess when they are layed down it's better to tame, but a little coconut oil like Carlie said and I'mk good to go

When my hair was relaxed, I didn't do anything special to my edges when my new growth started coming in other than brushing them. I won't say I liked it! I just like for my hair to look uniform.

WOW coconut oil uh....I sure wish that did the trick for me.....when I want it down.....I have to put gel and leavin' with a scarf to have mine lay anywhere...my hair is still like " oh whatchu talkin'about Willis" to the point where I have to let it "live" and let it goooooo where ever it want:)

I think I will stay relaxed a little longer, but I am (trying) to not let my stylist relax it bone straight

Maybe once I have settled I will pursue a texturizer.

Same here! I sit, watch and wait for the new growth, especially when I've just come out of braids.

I like when my edges kink and curl up as well. I think it looks better than when they are straight. It's a good thing too since I'm spacing out the time between re-touches.
