Greetings Ladies,
Just wanted to pop in and formally introduce myself. My official join date was 6/1/09, but like others I had been lurking since at least April. I started off at about SL and I'm hoping that I may have made it to APL. Being a Mom & Wife, I have become accustomed to putting myself last. Taking care of my hair has become a chance to take care of me for the first time in a looonnngg while. It has inspired me to take care of my body and mind as a whole. I joined a gym and got back to my hobby of reading (on the treadmill).

I can be internet challenged, so I hope this attaching pics works. I will post a pic of where I started from in April to where I am now.

Thanks for all your knowledge and the peek of some occasional porn(hair) at work.

WOW, what a difference.!!! YES I would say you made APL and you did a great job at posting the pics! What are you doing.. Please share your regi!!

:welcome:

Good for you for taking time out for yourself!

You've made incredible progress. It looks like we're the exact same length! I'd say its just touching APL. Give it another month and a half, and it will be undeniable. How many weeks post are you?

BTW ur hair is gorgeously shiny, especially in the last pic! :yep:

What is ur reggie?

Welcome . It looks like you're grazing APL to me, you may need another inch or so to claim it.

^^lol I know right! It's such a huge difference from her starting point, like night and day. Amazing!

Your hair is really beautiful! Props to you for for taking care of your hair and body. I wont even tell you how much weight I gained once I started my HHJ.... :nono: I would say you are at APL for sure.

Congrats! :dance7:

BTW: What is your reggie?

Welcome!
It looks about APL to me, especially if it were completely straight, since I see there's a slight bend in it. Congrats!

Thanks ladies for the feedback. I am currently 9 wks post relaxer. From about April to July, I was feeling bold and became a DIY. After a botched DIY relaxer attempt which broke out my nape, I decided to leave the chemicals and heat to the professionals. I'm trying to make it to 12 weeks. (fingers crossed)

Probably the biggest thing that I've learned here is to seal and protect the ends. Oh, and find a scarf (not cotton) that will stay on my head all night.

Regimen:
Phytophanere vitamins daily.
Chlorella/Spirulina about 1tsp each mixed
Pre-poo with Lustrasilk Shea Butter overnight
Wash w/Phyto shampoo 1x Week
Co-wash 1x Week w/AO HSR
Leave in: Giovanni Direct
Air Dry and I do mostly braidouts or my poor attempts at buns.

I use coconut oil to seal in pm & sweet almond oil in the am.
Profectiv MegaGrowth Daily Anti Breakage Hair Lotion or Elasta QP Mango Butter as a moisturizer.

Deep into these stretching weeks, I oil my scalp about every other night with a mixture of vatika oil & castor oil. Oh and I get my hair flat ironed at the shop every 3 weeks. Between then I use no direct heat. I literally put my curling iron and flat iron in the back of the closet.

Wow it seems like alot when I write it out, but it really isnt. I'm trying to learn how to roller set. I bought Macherieamour's dvd, but my scalp had a bad reaction to something I did in the process and gave me crazy flaky scalp. Maybe the saran wrap? Not sure, but will keep experimenting with that. One last thing, I eat dry roasted edamame as my work snack. It has more protein and less fat than peanuts.

Welcome!!!!!!!!

Your progress is amazing, you are grazing APL and will be full APL after a couple of inches. HHG!!!
