I'd say 3bish, but I can't really tell without more NG. But definitely not in the 4 range.
 
Oh Goodness then I don't know what my hair type is....lol. My hair is similar to the OP's when wet or dry and my edges and roots never really give me a terrible problem but I just assumed my hair is 4a or 4b:blush:.

It's too early to tell. I'm a 4a and my roots looked like that up until about the 3-4 month mark. It was waves. After that I started seeing curls. The relaxed hair was weighing the new growth down and making the pattern look looser.
