ALS in a leave in/Pomade???

Now you know I love me some Paul Mitchell. Since I am transitioning, I decided PM Foaming Pomade would be great for braid-outs, based on the reviews I read. One concern: It has ALS! I read online that ALS could help bond water and oil so maybe that's why its in there, IDK? Any chemist wish to explain so I can have a reason to go buy it? I'm going to UTLA today:lachen:

Demineralized Water, White Oil, Petrolatum, Disodium Cocamido-MEA-Sulfosuccinate, N Pentane, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Polyquaternium 7, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Propylparaben
