Ok guys i have an aloe vera plant outside my house. It is just sitting there. I know it is supposed to be really good for your hair , promotes shine and silkiness and that sort of stuff. But i have no idea how to uise it. I was thinking i could mix it with some olive oil (with a little bit of water) and use as a spray. I dont know.
Do you think you can give me some ideas please ? <font color="orange"> </font> <font color="orange"> </font>

You've got the real stuff, huh? That's great. Try putting some on your ends and let us know how it turns out.

I'll do that. I'll try it this weekend. But i was wondering since it has protein parts in it , wouldnt it be damaging to put on my hair just like that ?
I may probably mix it with some VO5 moisturising conditioner and use as a protein conditioner with heat

Maybe you could use it as pre-shampoo treatment. It's very common where I live and it's usually used alone, or mixed with some sage bush and hibiscus flowers. If you've gone a long time between perms or just took down braids or extensions this is a good treatment to leave on for a few days before perming or washing. It really leaves the hair soft and moisturized at the same time strengthening it to promote growth. Plus it alleviates burning/discomfort when perming hair. The texture of aloe vera is gel or jelly like and I don't think it would work best with oils. Whether it's used alone or not it really is a great herbal plant for overall use even acne. I don't know of anyone who has anything negative to say about aloe. Please let us know how it turns out. BTW, no matter how careful you are you will end up tasting it (very bitter). Good luck

P.S. after cutting off a leaf, peel the skin off using a sharp knife and remove the jelly from the middle of the leaf. To stretch it you can put the jelly in the blender with a little water and mix it

Yeh, i know about the taste . I use it on my face sometimes and no matter how many times i scrub my lips that taste is still there . Bleh

I love the natural Aloe Vera gel that I have in the house. I like to smootj down my edges. It's wonderful....thanks to someone on this site that recommended it. Its the best.
