Okay so yea, I HAD to go back to the braids. I returned the other flat iron and bought a new one. I did a CPR treatment on my hair and tried to work a new do. Uh huh, no way
. Since I like electricity and running water, I had to get myself together for work. I did bantu knots in the front and braided the back. This, of course, took forever and I had to wear it in one of those hair clips for a couple of days, but the third day, I actually finished. I then dipped it and have 12 really cute spiral curls in the back. I was positively giddy at work bouncing around with my big curls. Once the spirals fall, I'll undo the bigger braids (each consist of nine little ones) and freshen up the front every week when I wash it. I am in LOVE with bantu knots!!! I believe they will be less damaging on my hairline, braids aren't in my face and they are easy enough for me to do on a weekly basis.
My new plan is to rock this style for a couple of months and when I take the back down I am going to follow in Sweetcocoa's footsteps. By that time it will be two years and a month since my last relaxer. I just see it this way: I am in control of my haircare now and I am not going to cause damage to my hair the way the lady I was PAYING to do my hair did! After my relaxer, I will probably sport some more bantu knots, buns and braids as I am not ready for the world to see my length as of yet.
I feel with it relaxed, it will tangle a LOT less, thus my combouts won't be as harmful. I don't like my hair in an afro and I don't have cute waves that I want to preserve. This is my best bet. I am so very happy that I stopped going to the killer of my hair every two weeks and gave my hair a break for these two years. Once it is at least bra strap, I will be the rollersetting queen (I hope)!
Anyway, that's how my weekend went and my plan for my hair. I was going to post this sooner, but it took me so long to finish and I was trying very hard to fit sleep in there some where. I should take pictures of this do just because I like it so much!
Happy hair growing!!
