Mizani, Elucence & Affirm. Tell me what you think of your relaxer. I did a search and most of you had just started using some of these. Are you still using them? How is your hair? Which strength are you using?

For those that use Affirm, where can I order from??

I'm leaning towards the Elucence Reg. I would like to use Revlon Reg, but I think it's too strong for my hair but readily available.

I want something gentle to my strands that won't make my hair flat and lifeless.

I use affirm mild and i really like the way my hair feels -no dryness, breakage, or turning red in the summer. I use to use Revlon Lye Mild with similar results. I switched to Affirm because that was the only salon relaxer that gave my mom consistently good results. I wanted to know if a "professional" product would give me better results. But if there is a time I can't afford or get to Affirm, I will definitely go back to the Revlon lye mild. I order mine from www.sheldeez.com. If you're not sure you want to spend that much money on the relaxer, I say go with the Revlon lye and purchase the 5 n 1 reconstructor. That is a really good product.

I use Affirm also. So far it's been great. I am currently 11 post relaxer and I have no breakage. I have never been able to do that in the past. I ordered mine from sheldeez also. I figured I would have spent $80 on one touch-up at the salon, this way I'm spending the same money for probably six to eight at home.

I use Elucence regular, and I love it. I like how my hair is not dry and it looks very healthy. I tried the mild and found that I needed something a bit stronger. The regular strength is just right for me. I also love the shampoo and conditioner.

How can you tell if a relaxer is too strong for you,, what are the side effects...

I would say by the way my hair feels afterwards that crispy ,fried, dry feeling of my strands. Or its processing to quickly - leaving the possibility of overprocessing my hair.
