...do they really work? Or are they kinda like a "chicken soup for the sista's soul"?
That's kinda the first thing I thought when I first joined this forum. In an awed voice: "soooo many challenges...."

Except diets are designed to be temporary. People usually stay on a diet until they reach their desired goal although most do not.
