I air dry my hair all the time and what makes it look the best is when I put castor oil on it.
Whats the key?![]()
Thanks for sharing this Keen. For me, the magic moment of air drying started with Chi Silk Infusion. My hair air dries straight with no frizzy ends. I tried using silk amino acid mix with my other good leave in, I still got silky hair but I got freezy ends.
the most effective, cheapest, best air drying technique that works like magic for my 4b hair ..I can't remember the last time I've blowdried my real hair
you need: A great moisturizing lotion and oil
I suggest:
B&B Lotion
Africa's best Herbal Oil---I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS STUFF
Great stuff and inexpensive
1) Apply oil to toweldried (you don't want it too dried though) hair...focus on roots and ends
2) Untangle wet hair thoroughly with widetooth comb
3) Part in four sections or more...(airdrying in one ponytail equals tangles and matted hair for me)
4) Apply lotion to all section…focus on edges and ends
5) Plait each section…all the way to the ends…smooth down hair as best as possible (fine toothed comb or good brush), plait tightly.
6) Tie down with silk scarf.
7) Go to sleep, wake up with soft, moisturized healthy looking hair.
you will have some crinkles...follow up with flatiron
or you can do the same but with rollers (minus the plaits, or course)...and all you have to do is flatiron the roots...this also works really well after a fresh, home touch-up

I do it a few different ways , depending on the style I want
For curly hair - I wash in go ans scrunch in Garnier Fructis Curl and Shine Leave in Cream, and Sunsilk Anti Poof
For thick wavy hair - I do a braidout. I air dry half way and then apply a mix of shea butter detangling moisturizing hair lotion, thermasilk straight and smooth leave in cream , and anti poof in my hair. I unbraid each section in the morning. I use a crimping iron to make it look wavier sometimes.
For soft waves- I do a bantu knot set on damp hair. I section the hair and apply sebastian potion 9 wearable treatment to each section and detangle. Next I make 7-8 bantu knots. I take then down in the morning and spritz with oil to seal in moisture.
How many braids do you do for a braid out?
