I just moved here and I have seen some of the MOST atrocious weaves EVER. It's like the track is glued around the hairline or something and it's real noticable. And they rock it like it's the ish. I have never seen something like this and I was wondering what it is called and why they think it's cute. I am not messing with texas my dad is from here but come on I just wanna know.

LOL...I'm reppin the H...and I KNOW what you mean! That ish is crazy! But you smile and go on...and think I hope my friends don't let me come out like that EVER....My bffs always comment when they see ish like that...."They need more people"...

Girl isn't that some of those most GHETTO looking crap ever!! and don't forget those plastered on eyelashes. UNREAL!!

Sorry can't answer your question.

LOL..You left out where you can see the GLUE that is barely holding their EYELASHES together! That gets on my nerves! lol

:lachen:HA HA HA. I was watching Cheaters on Saturday and the girl had one. She had a large forehead also. I was wondering the same thing. Most Cheaters episodes are in TEXAS.
Thanks for the clarification that it is a TEXAS thing.

I'm not sure what you are talking about? Does anyone have pictures? Do you mean they glue the track to their forehead like a hairline?

They glue the track to the entire hairline all the way around! and wear a swoop bang and ponytail. The people that wear this usually have a few things in common, colored hair as in blue, blond, purple, burgundy etc, tats, and false eyelashs.

:nono: nope. not only a texas thing. A LOT of women (unfortunately) here in the Bahamas do the same thing...the worse is that they use a black dye/paint and plaster it on their forehead...its almost like they are trying to 'hide' the tract....:sigh: someone should really fire those 'stylists'.

:ohwell::nono:Wait a minute now, I'm from houston and I have never seen this. I'm going to need some pictorial evidence that ANYONE has done this, lol:sad:.

Nah I don't think it's a lacefront cause none of their real hair is showing. It's like a wig cap plastered to their head. I would love to show you some pics but I have only seen them in person and I can't snap a picture of someone and post it. i will see if I can find a pic online. Oh it's just awful. i live outside of Dallas I didn't know they were doing it in H town too. Yea I forgot about them eyelashes. Some hot ghetto mess just came up in here with these thick super black fake lashes and some dry skinny kinky twists. They were embarassing me because they were acting so dang ghetto in the doc office. Being all mean to their friends lil girl telling the baby to shut up. If I didn't have strep throat I would have picked her up and cuddled her. poor thing.

Oh I've seen that in the north and south. I don't think it's regional. One chick I came into my job like that all the time. All i could do was stare at her hair.:lachen:

no lacefront. Just imagine glueing a track to your hairline and not covering it with hair. Just hanging out there for the world to see. All I can say is that they usually have the shiniest weave in town. Which brings up another issue, they must use a specific brand of weave for this hairstyle.

I've only seen it here and I've lived quite a few places. Ahh well. I asked my sis and cousin what the name of it. My cousin lived here her whole life I believe so maybe she can help me out. When I get the name I can try and find a pic.

I'm from Houston and I really don't know what you are talking about. I think quick weaves.....most of the time, people have their tracks showing & don't really care, especially when the hair is wavy/ curly.

Actually, I'm now almost positive that you are describing the bad quick weaves that people wear in Houston & Dallas.

Are you guys talking about a quick weave? Frankie, Keishia Cole's Bio. Mother, wears them A LOT! So does Neffie, but hers doesn't look like a hard hat..more like a hood with floppy ears.

It's really shiny, very hard, and very fake! They started that crap with the Harlem 25 or The 27 piece weave. I think it's a southern thing.

there is a girl here that does that and she is from texas too... it is not cute

Yeah I do quick weaves (QW) according to what my clients want, but they are never trashy looking or ugly. If you like your hair natural-looking, more power to you. However, there are certain styles that are popular to certain regions. QWs are really popular in Dallas, but if that's not your style, then so be it. I do take this thread a little offensive, b/c I've from Dallas, where a lot of women wear QWs (including me), but to each it's own. The length you see on my head is because of QWs, and I don't feel bad or fake for wearing them, because I wear them good. I wear them, but they are styled to my liking. Not all women like the "natural" look. Some want to be flaboyant. Some don't like box braids, but that doesn't stop some from wearing them as a protective style. Just the same, I wear my QWs and style them for women who want to give their hair a break.

^^^ who are you talking to cause I am passed SL so HOLLA. And I am sorry if offended you that wasn't my intentions but like I said that ish looks a hot ghetto mess to me. That's my opinion and I stand by that.

I quoted who I was talking to, so if that wasn't u, then I wasn't referring to you.....Okay that was bit mean, but when something hits close to home it does touch a little sensitive spot.

I know many people don't think they're offending others, but this website reaches around the world. So someone is bound to eventually be offended. When I read someone say that most of the time when they see QWs they see different colors, it really is offensive. A lot of women wear them, but you may not be able to tell because of the versatality of the style. If someone started a thread that says sew-ins (b/c they're fake) are so ghetto. We would have a riot in here.

I have never seen the style that Op is talking about, but I have seen some of the ones you have done and I did love them. Especially the curly one you did on yourself. Didn't look ghetto to me.
