What is wrong with these black people? I was in school today on LHCF, and I was looking through some threads, i was speaking to an associate. I mentioned a relaxer, how i thought about getting one, but i won't (just my personal preference).

She comes out with

Her:you should get one, i reccomend a relaxer to everyone its the way forward
Me: Why
Her:Because our hair is just rough, having a relaxer makes everything easier, when you comb it, its smooth
Me:No, people with "rough" hair, simply haven't been educated on how to take care of there hair, or they know, but their still mistreating it.

Then i show hair a picture, of a lady on here with type 4a/b natural/quite long from LHCF.. then...

Me: (in sarcastic tone) Oh wait you can't look at that, its to rough for you
Her: Yea actually you are right it is a bit rough

I was just there like

The "conversation" went on for a while after that. She doesn't care she beleives our hair stays rough, and that we all should have relaxers, and she reccomends everyone should have one and done. She wears a short cut (prolly bout an inch long all over), and she perms it quite frequintly, and she was like

"oh yea, i still reccomend them, and i do mines, my scalps burnt but im doing good"

Yes... a burnt scalp is always a good achievement, i was so mad at her! And she never listen to the relaxing tips i give her off here.. she rather walk around with burns and scabs *kissteet* pure nignorance.

Ladies what is wrong with these people!!!!!!!!

SORRY I HAD TO RANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heck no she did not say that!

When I told my stylist from undergrad that I was growing out my perm, he replied....I dont know whats wrong with yall black women going natural.....A PERM WAS THE BEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO A BLACK WOMANS HAIR!

So she is not alone in that ideal....:(

So when that last inch of overprocessed hair falls out she'll be stalking you trying to get some suggestions :perplexed then you will have her undivided attention.

Like everyone says dont waste your energy. I know people - black and white - who I try to hook up because they have jacked up hair and the response is almost always: I know what works for my hair so I am OK.

Just today I told a friend of mine (she's white) that deep conditioning will prevent her hair from looking so fried - she gets it Thermo straightened/ relaxed and her response was pretty much: whatever!

Then she wonders why her hair is frizzy, limp and lifeless and why she was blessed with smooth soft hair.
