Your hair looks GREAT. Ooooh I am sooo jealous. I really can't wait to get to 23 inches. If there is any reason why anyone who can do the bun challenge without breakage can, she is it!
Thank you very much! When I told the stylist not to trim my hair, I thought she would go off on a tirade but it wasn't the case.
I've found that rinsing my hair with 10 en 1 Super Rinse makes it easier to comb through my hair than Creme of Nature so I hope I will have less breakage than now.
Well, I made up the Cruise Challenge to see how long I could grow my hair before the LHCF cruise. Like a little goal for myself.
I don't know if you can buy the Super Rinse online but I have seen it in BSS by my school for $4.99 so I'm going to buy some more and perhaps use it in place of a conditioner instead of just a rinse because it makes my hair feel instantly silky and it detangles it very well.
My regimine has changed slightly. Instead of washing my hair myself, I get it done at a Dominican salon (I posted the salon info in another post. Search "Charo and friends" and it should come up)
I get a wash and set with NO blow dry, and then wrap my hair. For my birthday I had them use a curling iron (why, oh why I really have no clue) and my ends are really, really split. I leave my hair wrapped all day and then next day I put my hair in a bun. I'll take photos with my camera to show you how I do my bun with a hairagami.
Here's what I use:
Shampoo Samy Moisture Shampoo (can be bought at Target for $4.99 or on www.hsn.com for a lot more $$)
Conditioner: Samy Moisture Conditioner (can also be bought at Target) but I'm thinking of replacing it with the 10 en 1 Super rinse
Leave-in: My trusty Salerm 21 Silk Protein
deep conditioner: either Salerm Wheat Germ Oil or LeKair's Cholesterol plus. I switch, using one each week. I leave them both on for at least an hour and then rinse and use a conditioner and then my leave-in.
misc. Hairagami (2), S-Curl, Avlon Organics Biotin shampoo (I'm just trying to use it up), WGO (on my ends while my hair is in a bun, sans baggie), Olive oil (to put in the baggie)
I also have pictures of how I wear my hair up at night and I'll soon post pictures of how I do my baggie, when I do wear my hair that way.
I love your new pics and hairagami instructions! Your hair is so gorgeous! What is the name or brand of the small, thin elastic ponytail holders you use that is safe for hair and where can I find it?
They're by Goody and you can probably find them at any drugstore or BSS but I got mine in Target. I can't remember how much they were, but you get 10-20, I think. After I brought them home, my mom and sister snatched some and I was left with only 5.
The "ouchless" elastic ones come in a regular size (which is good too, but not for this) and the thin, skinny size. They have a lot of colors but I bought the brown ones to blend in.
When you use it, I wouldn't suggest wrapping it around your hair more than two times because they're so little and not very stretchy past the second twist, but three times is possible and most likely safe if you're very careful about removing from your hair. Twice is enough for me. They don't slip out easy so you won't have to worry about your hair coming aloose even though you've only wrapped it twice.
